Wahl Vacuum Housing Review
I was not impressed with the design of this attachment. First off, it comes with two screws that replace the screws in the housing of the clipper itself. The supplied screws are longer, and the idea is that you remove the screws from the clipper, place the vacuum housing in place, and attach the housing by placing the long screws through the vacuum housing and into the holes in the clipper where you removed the standard screws. The cheap replacement screws were too long, and, worse yet, the threads were not cut right. I was afraid of stripping the holes in the housing of the clipper. Even if the screws did fit right, they were positioned at the very base of the unit near the power cord, with no anchor of any type near the middle and/or top. Normal handling could cause too much stress at the screws and break the housing or worse - damage the nice clipper. I am suprised this poor attachment is sold an accessory to such a high quality clipper unit.Another point - the place to connect the vacuum cleaner is non-standard. By that I mean, it does not fit most standard canister vacuum hose sizes. This was the only unit I found anywhere, so I didn't have many options. I keep my hair short ( I use the number 1 adapter ) and like to trim it weekly. I threw away the crappy screws that came with the vacuum housing, and attached it to the clipper using Johnson & Johnson sports tape. You know - the stuff you tape ankles with for extra support. I hated putting tape over the nice chrome on the clipper, but I needed a solution. This worked perfectly.Next, I went to Home Depot and bought a 10 foot length of flexible vinyl tubing - 3/4 inch inside diameter. I stuck one end in boiling water to soften it, then worked it over the end of the vacuum housing nozzle. After it cooled, it was on there nice and solid. I just stick about 12 inches of the other end of the vinyl tubing right into the hose on the vacuum cleaner and it works like a champ. Cutting just 1/4 inch off of your hair can be a real mess, so doing it this way is really convenient. Too bad Wahl couldn't get it right. The Senior Clipper sure is nice though.-DG

not worth it
this product is ok, it does exactly what it should however, it is plastic and a few drops will have you repurching it again. this time i will get the aluminum housing and hope it will last longer.
