This item locks the tablet in place and it is very sturdy.
It will not damage the shelf. The item holds a 11 in table vertically, which is good if you have a pen to keep charged. Also, metal part ensure that it can be tighten without breaking.

heres a thought.
Ipad mount works perfect. It just gets big enough to fit my cabinets. Sturdy and easy to use and work with. After using it a little bit while cooking in the kitchen i almost wish i got one that could mount to the bottom of the cabinets. After using it for a while i wish i got one for under the cabinet mount and not on the face. If this could swivel up more i could have clamped it underneath. The ipad would have been a bit further back and leave me more room to work in the kitchen

Great for some set ups
When mounted under a bar or counter, it's tilt feature is limited. We mounted under the bar, facing up, and the tablet screen faces a more level angle than an upward, user friendly level. Other than that, it works great.

Works great!
I got this for a free tablet I won at work. It works great to hold the tablet. We currently have it set up so that it holds the tablet under a cupboard in the kitchen. It holds it firmly and secures tightly to the cupboard. There is no wiggling or slop. It’s also super portable so if you want to move it to a different location, it’s not a hassle to do so because of how easy it is to install too.

Handy and versatile mount for tablets
I use for an iPad mostly used for gaming. Well-made, sturdy, easy to assemble (there is a ball joint that takes some force to seat in its socket). Reasonably priced. Looks like it will be quite durable. Stays in place, does not loosen over time. Swivels well. Zero complaints.

Great product, and sturdy but the plastic didn't last.
Plastic components attached to the ball joint broke after 5 months. It completely detached from the holder dropping the tablet to the floor.

Perfect for purpose. Fits cabinet frame for iPad (cooking recipes, mostly). Attaches and detaches easily so I can put it away when not in use.

Solid mount but...
Bought this to hold an ipad in a convenient location on my desk. Solid build, but limited adjustment side to side. Ended up not angling the ipad toward my seating position enough
