Skepticism Cured
Prior to reading reviews: What a neat product! After reading reviews: Oh no...I decided to buy it anyways. I completed a CLEAN oil change on my 3rd gen Tacoma a few moments ago without issue. Yes, the packaging is non-descript and plain. Yes, it does not contain instructions. If you want to dock the product for those two being left out, sure but if you can't figure out how to use this properly, I'm not sure you should be doing oil changes. At the end of the day though, this is a cheap tool and it simply works. As someone else remarked the machining is of great quality and it mated right up to the filter housing when I threaded it by hand. My hose did come kinked but it didn't impact the utility of the tool. As suggested the hose is very long and I cut it down to 8" in length for my use case. The remaining hose I will keep on hand as a spare and I may utlimately replace the currently attached hose with it since that section is less kinked. This saved me from a ton of mess and it worked. That's all that matters to me. I'd consider docking a star for the kinked hose but I'm not sure I can be bothered.

Easy to use
This was easy enough to figure out how to use but the tubing was way more than I needed and it didn't fully drain the filter like I thought it would so just be cautious when removing your filter.

Outstanding tool for changing your oil when you don’t have the spin on oil filter
I liked how simple this was to use. Very easily on Toyota. Pretty straightforward as you screw it onto the housing and then start to turn the screw to have the oil drain the filter media canister. Nothing spills out on you. Very slick well thought of design. Only thing I would change and I did is the drain hose that comes with this is 99% worthless. It will kink up in a heartbeat. Just get a good quality hose. Even a fuel line hose will work and have it go right into your drain pan. There’s videos on this in case you run into any kind of a snafu for anyone who changes their oil at home and once in a lot less mess this is a must have

First run of hot oil the hose will straighten out!
Works perfectly! And like others I was worried the kinked up hose wouldn't flow. But as soon as the hot oil hit it, it straightened out and flowed just fine.

Worse than the included tool in the filter
Tried using this instead of the included plastic tool that comes with the filter. I have an oil drain valve on the pan with a tube and wanted to be able to drain all the oil into one container without spilling so I got this also for the filter. Seems well made however when I went to use it the length of the tip that engages the filter drain seems to be too long and it engages the drain before making a seal which caused oil to leak everywhere. Tried pulling it out and using it again faster and getting the threads engaged so it would drain down the tube. Still leaks a lot oil around the piece before the threads engage and send it down the tube. Threw it away after the first use. Going to try another option or just keep using the included plastic piece that comes with the filter.

Works ok, but there could be some improvement
I bought this to streamline my oil changing process on my two Toyotas. Draining the oil from the filter cartridge has always been a challenge. The entire oil cartridge is not very well designed and usually you would expect more from Toyota. While that is a separate issue, this device is supposed to allow you cleanly drain the excess oil that is lying in the filter cartridge housing. If you have a Toyota that uses this kind of filter, you know it has a lower section that is emptied when you insert a plastic drain plug after the cap is removed. I have been doing this for over 11 years and that process never works. I saw this and thought it had to be a better system. It is, but the plastic tubing is cheap, and it really needs to be wider. Overall, it is a good system but for the quality of the parts, it is overpriced.Update: 10.21.2022My second time at bat was a little better using this tool. The tubing is too long but it does a good job of allowing the filter cartridge to drain, thereby minimizing the mess when you remove the filter element from the cartridge housing. I am thinking you have a learning curve to get over and once you are use to the tool, it reduces the amount of dirty oil you have to deal with on your hands and dripping on the surface.
