The Big Book of Practical Spells: Everyday Magic That Works Paperback – June 1, 2016

I loved how extensive this book is. The author is very thorough and thoughtful. She has a laudry list of resources in her bibliography. My only complaint if you can call it that is I wish I could pinpoint/connect information from her bibliography to her writtings. That way I can dig deeper into that specific topic or detail. I would have also liked to have seen a smidge more information on how important it is to recognize, incorrperate, and be respecful of the cultures many of the spirits and gods originate. Other than very minute details. This book is absolutely worth reading.

This is a hefty book. It has a ton of spells. It’s literally 3-4 inches thick. You could use the thing as a weapon. Lol but I’m all seriousness, the spells are good and this is an awesome gift! You can find literally anything you want or need. I love this book!

I'm a huge fan of this author, so I made sure to get her latest. Some of the information in here is a repeat of her Encyclopedia of 5,000 Spells book, but still a very valuable reference tool for those that practice magic(k). One of this author's strengths is that she discusses magical practices from around the world and is light on the "morality" side (she basically just says use your best judgement as opposed to preaching the Wiccan Rule of 3).I couldn't recommend this book more for beginners or more advanced Witches/Root Workers/Conjurers, etc. Excellent!

I will own everything by this author she is frequently on Coast to Coast and I really appreciate her take on the craft. It really mirrors my own. There are a lot of books out there - Her stuff is a conversational read. It's positive magic. I appreciate her work.

The Big Book of Practical Spells by Judika Illes is written with simplicity and care. I am able to follow the reading without having a dictionary or a magic book to decipher. This is a wonderful book of spells!

Just what I was looking for!

I love Book Depository!they have smart packaging, the books always are like new or near new, never had a problem.I work at a comic book shop and if i can't find the item someone needs I send them to Book Depository.The Book in question, will work well for the homework I'm doing. It has a quick over view of the craft itself, they call it "Magic 101" which I agree with. The balk is filled with spells as advertisedWould recommend for dabblers, beginners, a must have for the bookshelf of a Witch

Disjointed and complicated where it didn't need to be.

So easy to get lost in reading and follow along.

Sshipping was awesome, I love this book, very informative, enlightening. Would make an awesome addition to anyone's collection.

this book is unfortunately fraught with cultural appropriation. I appreciate that she at least cites her sources, but that is the only thing I appreciate. my only experience with judika before this book was her encyclopedia of spells, and I decided to pick up a few of her other works and I immensely regret the decision. This book includes how to make an altar to baron samedi, which is extremely disrespectful to include as he is from a closed practice. A few of the spells are ok, but not enough of the book is good enough for me to rate it more than a star.
