Of course, there is no way for me to really know the quality of these D3 softgels, since the company is not one of the major brands with a track history. Judging by the ingredients, they are largely equivalent to the major brands. When I ordered them, I had not focused on the fact that they meet the Halal dietary standard; however, I'm guessing that this is why these Shiffa softgels are twice as expensive as the major brands (for instance, you can get on Amazon 240 Nature's Bouty 5000 iu D3 softgels for slightly less than the cost of 120 of the Shiffa brand). If the Halal designation isn't important to you, there are other quality makers of D3 softgels that are more reasonably priced.

This Vit D3 is not as high quality as completely natural Cholecalciferol.It's unclear what percent is Cholecalciferol and what percent is lanolinbut the amounts are irrelevant, as I don't care to digest lanolin.(made from lanolin retrieved from washing lambs wool)> The capsules are Bovine - so not VeganSince natural Vit D3 isn't expensive - and this being / or partially being acommercially prepared supplement, the price seems a little high.> A point in question - although it's RARE = some folks may be allergic to lanolinwhich is responsible for wool allergies, so folks allergic to wool should avoid it.> Also if enough is ingested it can be poisonous because of its waxy natureit can build up in the intestines.Kosher vegetable capsulesServing -1 daily = 4 months supply

Aside from the odd aftertaste (I suspect from the EVOO in it) this is great. It is exactly the amount the doctor suggested I have daily. I honestly couldn't tell a difference in how I felt before or after taking it though. This is a great price for the amount it includes if you only need to take one a day. I would recommend it.
