Well, after many hours of reading reviews of who knows how many dozens and dozens of other vacuum sealers available on Amazon....I decided to give this Potane vacuum sealer a try. Now considering it would have to "live up to" my old reliable FoodSaver vacuum sealer that worked absolutely flawlessles for over 26+ years....and lost it in a house fire. And with food prices going up week after week, I had to get another and start "storing up" all that I had lost. So far, I've used this Potane on the first day for maybe 3-4 hours. I made dozens of sealings making smaller bags from the 11" roll without a hiccup. Every seal was solid. The second day of use, probably used it for maybe 2 hours straight. So far so good. Every seal was good and solid. Today (13Nov21) I just finished up using it for probably 4 hours, almost near continuously. No problems or issues. The suction I must say, is far better than my previous vacuum sealer. It pulls nice and tight against whatever you're sealing.....so be cautious if your sealing food with "sharp" edges. As its drawing a vacuum, work the food within the bag to kinda "smooth" everything out if you can. My one of my concerns was "would the included hose with the Potane work with my FoodSaver jar sealer attachments I just received??"....YES, I've sealed over a dozen jars flawlessly! Even the regular mouth sealer works. No problems, every one sealed in one vacuum rotation. I ALWAYS had sealing issues with my previous sealer using the jar attachments, especially the regular mouth. I really, really like having the single pull down handle to close the machine. My previous one you had to close the lid and press two tabs on either end of the machine while holding down the lid. Kinda awkward at times. With the Potane, you know that the lid is down and locked without question. The built-in bag cutter is nice, my previous unit did not have that. Making bags is a lot quicker using it. I also like having the in-machine bag storage, which again, my previous unit did not have. Potane also included a roll of 11" and 8" each and my advice to anyone reading this.....BUY MORE BAGS right off the bat!! You will go through them very quick like I did. One of the pro's of purchasing this unit is the "5 year warranty" that is stated. If it's true, then I have no worries for the next 4 years 11 months 24 days. That's a "wait and see" issue, and I hope to never have to hold Potane to their written word. The cost of the unit wasn't as costly as my first unit (back when vacuum sealers were first on the market and I got mine sometime around 1994-5?) So, in conclusion....I am very impressed and pleased with this Potane vacuum sealer machine. It was worth the cost and I can only hope that it will last me a long time. I don't expect 25 years like my FS, but only time will tell.

Love this little machine. Easy to use. Simple design. Saves space on counter. I have had other brands and they always have issues.

This is a good vacuum sealer, sealing with vacuum/seal feature and accessories with excellent results. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because it does not have a removable tray which I just realized. I had slimy fluid in the tray which came from a sandwich pack of sliced ham I vacuum sealed a couple of days ago and I hadn't realized had leaked. The seal for that package, however, was a tight seal so the machine does a good job of sealing even when there's a small amount of package leakage present in the seal area. It also doesn't have an on/off switch which would be helpful. The addition of both features would make this a superb vacuum sealer and worth extra cost.

The packaging was excellent and the paperwork impressive. I know that sounds silly but it shows a desire on the company's part of a desire to make sure the product is easily understood and well accepted. I tried it and found I was having a bit of difficulty getting the air vacuumed. I went to the "trouble shooting" section and immediatly found what I was doing wrong. Once I corrected the positioning, the problem was gone. I was also thrilled I could just keep sealing and sealing and sealing one after another with no need to wait for the machine to "cool down". So far, very happy with my purchase.

I’ve owned two of the more recognizable brand and the first one I owned I had to push down with both hands while sealing, when it conked out after a year I replaced it with the same brand, but the hands-free model, and it was fine but only lasted 18 months. My neighbor recommended Potane so I bought one. It finally stopped working just shy of 5 years of high usage. I say ‘finally’ because I used it heavily, amazed it lasted that long, I didn’t hesitate when it came time to order another…same model. I have a large family and tend to buy many pounds of beef, chicken and pork when it goes on sale, much more than we can eat in a week or two, so I divide it into portions, date it, and freeze it, hardly any freezer burn like the amount you get leaving it in the store packaging. I buy a few turkeys when it goes on sale during the holidays, cook it, then bag it in portions I can grab from the freezer and enjoy many months after the holiday. The bags can be little pricey, but I save so much on food I buy on sale that it’s not a consideration anymore. For the last couple of years, I’ve gotten into Sous Vide cooking, and it’s a life changer. Before sous vide I would defrost my frozen meat then cook it, which is okay, but takes time, which I sometimes don’t have. With sous vide I can spice up the meat, seal it, sous vide cook it, let it cool, and throw in the freezer. Now I’m no longer stressed at mealtime, especially if family drops by or the kids bring their friends over. I just grab one or two pre-cooked bags of food, defrost in the microwave mostly, make a quick side dish, and dinner is served. I even vacuum seal baked goods like muffins…just have to freeze them to harden them first, then grab the Potane, divide them up, and seal a few in each bag.

I used it and it is awesome, easy to use and was also very easy to order on Amazon.

I bought this product and didn't test it immediately unfortunately. It doesn't even switch on due to the difference in voltage between Australia and the United States.

I don't get the positive reviews on this thing. It's not very strong, the liquid reservoir isn't removable so it's a mess if you have wet food or marinades, sometimes it's a pain to get a seal. Way over priced.
