Exact match. Installation is slightly difficult, but it works well.
Works well on a Garmin Nuvi 260W. The hardest part was getting the case open. Follow the video instructions carefully. The plastic spudger tool they supply with the kit is pretty low-quality, but you'll only have to use it once. LOL Battery appears to be a nearly exact match to the original 1250 mah battery that was in the Garmin. The cable connector is exactly the same. It fits nicely into the case. I mounted it with a little double-sided tape (not supplied in kit) and it stays put with no problem. I don't see any issues, but I will update this once we've tried it out and checked the battery life. All in all, good kit. Good price. Good value. You can bring new life back into that old Garmin GPS. No reason to throw it away if it works. And it will get you out of a jam if you are way out in the woods, away from the cell towers where Google Maps doesn't work.

Revised my Nuvi 200
Yeah, I know, everyone uses their phone. But my Garmin has a lot of destinations programmed in it, so it's easier to replace the battery rather than transfer addresses to a phone. Replacing the old battery is not too difficult if you watch a couple of videos. The tools are cheap, but they're good enough for opening up a few cases before they're shot. At least tools are included. This battery works fine so far. Now if I remember to not cook the GPS in the hot sun, maybe the battery will last a long time. Price is reasonable.

Perfect battery. Install is not easy. Cheap plastic tools.
First off, the battery fit perfectly and the harness was correct for the Garmin 255W. It is a tad bit smaller than the OEM battery and the amp-hour rating appears slightly less. But the 12 year old OEM battery was still marginally alive, so this one should give decent service. I reused the double-sided sticky tape that held the OEM battery to the case. A new 1 inch piece of tape would have been nice to have. The tools provided were cheap Chinese crap. Tiny Phillips screwdriver's tip deformed removing a screw set in plastic. Thankfully, the small Torx bit fit perfectly and did not deform - you will need this tool to open the case. And opening the case was impossible using the plastic pry tools provided, all broke or deformed. So a butter knife saved the day. And magic words. I used a lot of those. Lastly, be aware that there is a ribbon connector that goes from the screen to the PCB. When you open the case there is about a 99.99% chance the ribbon cable will detach. You can't replace it with the PCB screwed into the case. First lock in the ribbon cable, and then gently move things around until things fit. If you are lucky you won't have to try this more than 8 or 10 times. And be aware that the on-off slide switch will also jump out at you. Be sure the notch is aligned with the pin on the switch on the PCB board when you replace it. It only fits one way.. If you have patience it helps. Overall I would get this again, but without expecting an easy replacement.

Once Installed, My Garmin Works Like New
Once I watched the video on how to replace the battery, it was relatively easy to replace. The hardest part was separating the top from the bottom. My Garmin is now holding a charge, and working like new again.

Garmin Nüvi 255W-FITS
This fit my old Garmin Nüvi 255W. It wasn't holding a charge and I used my smartphone all the time. But-there are times with there is no cell signal, but GPS would be there. So-I gave it a shot. Super easy to replace the old original battery. There is a youtube video with great instructions. This battery comes with tools, the microscrewdriver and pry tool. It works too! Right out of the box it had a 75% charge. This is worth the price, way cheaper than a new GPS. And-I remembered I had bought lifetime maps so I updated and I have a sollid backup plan when cell signal is weak.

Wrong tool supplied
As a replacement for the Garmin battery it appears to be working well. It was a shame as others have experienced I received the wrong size tools with the battery. The Torx screwdriver was too large, and the Phillips head was too flimsy to undo the circuit board screws. Fortunately I had Phillips head screw drivers of the right size, but had to buy a Torx size 5 screwdriver. The plastic pry tools to open the case are far too flimsy, but a tool on a Swiss army knife work instead. No doubt the supplier prices this battery with a mark up for the tools. I picked it because it had the tools, chiefly the Torx screwdriver, but you would do better to buy just the battery and a #5 Torx screwdriver, and small Phillips head screwdriver if needed separately.
