Is it easy to clean a stain on it? What is the recommended means?

I use a wet wash cloth and then let it air dry. It cleans up nice, I love it.

Does it get discolored?

Discolored, no, but it's not as bright as you expect out of the box (and the gold isn't metallic). I've wiped mine with a Clorox wipe a few times. I've dripped marinara sauce on it unintentionally. I dripped fountain pen ink on it intentionally. None of these left a noticeable stain. I think it'll hold up to my level of messiness.
