Question 1

Did you know that ikea sells this for $9.99? Why double the price?

Accepted Answer

IKEA doesn’t ship. Check it out for yourself. It’s “delivery” only and that starts at like $60 I think? Can’t remember but it’s an absurd price.

Question 2

I'm not clear on dimensions - what is the width, meaning side to side; depth, meaning front to back; and height of this unit? Thanks!

Accepted Answer

The shelf is 14 1/8” (side to side) x 9” (front to back) x 39 3/8” tall. Hope that helps answer your question. Thank you for inquiring.

Question 3

Can anyone tell me the internal dimensions of the shelves? I'm looking to put baskets in them. Thanks

Accepted Answer

7 1/2 inches x 12 1/2 inches. Height 11 1/2 inches.

Question 4

Can this be taken apart easily? Thinking of using it for a craft show display, so I would want to take it apart for easy storage between shows.

Accepted Answer

I have disassembled about 8 shelves. I would not say that it is really easy. The effort depends on how the shelving unit was assembled, on the tool you use for disassembly, on your manual dexterity, and on the strength of your hands.

How easily a shelving unit can be disassembled varies. As the unit is assembled, the top of each lower leg should be pressed toward the outside of the leg slot in the shelf. To do this, I twist a flat-bladed screwdriver gently in the slot. I do not use the screwdriver as a lever or use a lot of force. The top of each lower leg should be outside two shallow vertical ridges in each slot. (You have to look closely to see the ridges.) That leaves room for the upper leg, which contains the latch. I figured this out by doing it wrong, and having to overcome a lot of friction when I removed the upper leg.

If you use a tool like the tail-end of a sturdy discarded toothbrush to depress the latch at the bottom of each upper leg (that is, under the shelf) while holding the upper leg in your other hand and pushing down on the shelf with your thumb, disassembly can be straightforward. If you don't have some sort of tool, you will need strong thumbs.
