My "Must-Have" Exercise Equipment!
As someone that needs a low-impact workout that actually WORKS, my new pink Synergee Gliding Discs are the answer! I don't have a gym membership, but for the price of these amazing discs, I felt I had nothing to lose! I have a crushed vertebrae in my lower back, as well as a herniated disc in my upper back from an accident; I also needed double hip surgery 3 years ago and will need a full hip replacements at some point in the next few years. Whew! 😥 I am definitely not overweight, however, I did have 3 children (my kids are still rather young), so I can definitely use some toning! There are several different exercises you can do with these great little discs. I get a nice workout for my abs, buns, and inner thighs, which is where I feel the need for the most "help". I've used these discs on my hardwood floors, laminate flooring, as well as several low pile area rugs, and they work beautifully on all of the surfaces I've mentioned. I haven't tried the discs on higher pile ("fluffier') carpet or stone/ceramic flooring, but can see how those types of flooring may give a bit more resistance, amounting to a tougher workout. These "wonder discs" most assuredly work out the areas I feel need more toning, while still being gentle on the areas I've had injuries/surgery. The size of these discs as well as being as lightweight as they are make them very convenient for traveling- they barely take up any room at all! I can even stash them in my handbag if I needed to! What other exercise equipment can you say that about? 😄 If you're a busy mom (or dad!) like me, or travel a lot for work or pleasure but still want to stay on an exercise regimen, these discs are the answer! They are my "Holy Grail" of exercise equipment. My only regret is not knowing about them/buying them sooner!

A cheap and effective exercise tool for bodyweight exercises.
I was looking to change up my bodyweight exercise routine for something new, interesting, and challenging; and the slider looked to be a cheap and effective exercise tool. This is my second week using the sliders and I like it. One side is for carpets and the other side is for hardwood or tile flooring. I’ve only used my slider on a basketball hardwood floor and it slides easily. When doing sliding exercises with your feet on the slider, you do have to exert some pressure or else the slider will slip away from your feet. YouTube has some excellent slider exercise videos if you don’t know how to use a slider in an exercise program. If you use the smooth side on a carpet, one YouTuber suggested rubbing and wiping off a small amount of Rain-X if you need the slider to glide more smoothly. If you’re afraid the Rain-X might ruin your carpet, the YouTuber recommends going to a carpet store and buying cheap carpet remnants. The Synergee Slider is basically a furniture slider that you can buy at any Home Depot or similar home improvement store. The retail cost of a furniture slider from Home Depot and the Synergee Slider from Amazon is fairly comparable. I went with the Synergee Slider from Amazon because shipping was free so I saved gas money by not going to Home Depot. If you’re really unsure you want to spend the money or not sure sliders will be an effective exercise tool, you can try using paper or plastic plates; but these alternatives will only work on a carpeted surface.

Quality Discs, But Not For Use on Concrete
The discs were pretty much exactly as described. On one side, there is a velvety pad that makes the discs suitable for very smooth floors (e.g., laminate, wood). The other side is a hard, smooth plastic surface which glides nicely on carpeted areas. If I have any complaints, the discs are a bit too small, but the company cannot be faulted for that because it says the size on the product description. This was our second set of discs because my daughter used the first set on a concrete floor and destroyed the plastic surface in no time. So, do not use these on concrete!

Nice Addition to the workout routine.
These things really make some exercises and workouts a lot easier to accomplish which makes me way more willing to do them, lol. I debated buying furniture sliders but I'm glad I went with these because they work on both carpet and (fake) wood. I did have a short carpet so I can't speak to how these would work with longer shag but they slide easily and really force me to use my core in the exercises I do with them. I have physical therapy for my hip and do a lot of squats and other things to strengthen that area and I use these to force my muscles to stabilize etc. My roommate uses them for hand-walks and loves how they work. Also they aren't too big (I have 6.5-7 shoe size) but they also worked for my roomie with 9-10 shoe size. Easy to store I definitely appreciate having them in my workout routine these days.

Effective but not for everyone!
I was skeptical of these at first as a fitness trainer. But I gave them a shot and found that I like them for myself and some of my advanced students. I don't incorporate them into every routine for a few reasons. 1. Depending on the floor you have in your home or fitness studio/gym, they can really scuff it up. 2. If you don't have enough core strength, don't use these yet. Build up your strength before you add equipment. I prefer my students to perfect their planks before they add sliders so they can hold the position effectively and safely. Once you make progress in your plank, lunge, etc...then go ahead and add these to your exercise routine. 3. Some people don't have great balance or coordination. With some students in my classes, I worry that they would slip or fall and injure themselves because they couldn't maintain their balance, alignment, or a leg or arm flew out from under them. Otherwise, if your fit and healthy and know how to perform your exercises correctly, then go ahead and add these. You'll certainly feel the difference as you increase the effectiveness of bodyweight exercises and range of mobility.

Perfect for what I needed
I ordered these core sliders to help with the Mountain Climber exercise after I sprained my ankle. I thought these would allow me to continue doing the exercise, with less impact on my weak ankle. (I decided this on my own, not based on any actual facts or research. The product does not claim to help with messed up ankles and what not) That being said, they worked perfectly for what I wanted! They glide easily on both my wood floors and my carpet. Also, the sliders really help focus the workout onto my core by helping me keep my form throughout. I really hate doing mountain climbers, but these make them easier without taking away the benefits of the exercise. The sliders also come with a great instructional sheet showing pictures of how to do different exercises using them. That was a nice bonus for me because I like trying new exercises outside my regular routine. I've tried a couple of the exercises shown and they are good, effective moves. The only thing I wish would have also been included on the instruction sheet was more info on the "dual sided-ness"- just which side should be used on wood floors and which side in carpet. I didn't take away a star for this because I do realize that I should have known that on my own. I figured it out pretty quickly. (The hard side will scratch your wood floors. Use the other side down on wood. I know, I shouldn't have needed instructions for that.) Overall these are perfect for what they are supposed to do.

Great product! I was a little concerned about how ...
Great product! I was a little concerned about how well they would work switching back and forth from carpet to laminate wood flooring. I thought maybe one side might be better than the other. Nope....both sides are great. They work equally as well on either carpet or non-carpeted flooring. I have laminate wood and I have carpet. I also like the look of the sliders and the construction. They are sturdy and well made. Plus they come in awesome colors. Super great for core work. If you are familiar with Beachbody workouts they are perfect for those programs that use the sliders. Note: there is a coupon for buying more than one item. Get the sliders and the bands and use the coupon code! :)
