This spray helped save me and my 4 month old son from a dog attack. A mean little mutt dog broke free from its owner and attacked me at the local park while I was carrying my son in a front carrier. I sprayed it at the dog after he bit me once and I had shaken him off my leg and he lunged at me a second time. It worked, the dog backed off as soon as he was sprayed. Thus spray did not incapacitate the dog as much as I would have liked. The spray did not blow back into my face, but it misted a bit more than I thought it would. I had performed a test a year ago, and the spray seemed to travel farther a year ago than it did yesterday. So perhaps it loses some of its carrying ability over time. That being said, the spray worked as intended, I only wish I'd seen the dog coming the first time, it happened so fast.I've been carrying spray clipped to my waist for years and this was the first time I've ever used it, although occasionally i will grab it and put my finger on the trigger if I see an unruly dog more to let the owner know to control it better which I've noticed does get the owners attention.After seeing how aggressive that little dog was i'm worried this spray isn't strong enough for a pittbull. I'm going to start carrying bear spray in the stroller for that.

Easy to use, concealable, and will hit out to 15'-20'. Instead of spray, it's a gel that stops an attacker, giving you time to get away. Straps to a belt or stores in a purse. Essential protection.

I have yet to actually use this pepper spray, protection against any approaching animals (2 or 4 legged), riding a motorcycle everywhere and living in the country where a lot of dogs are allowed to run untethered, that tend to be aggressive toward motorcycles. The clip has held up to wear, but will slip off of a belt if not secured better.

Always go with gel and always with a built in belt clip. Most of these products come with some sort of a nylon holster that can go on your belt. After being in law-enforcement for more than 20 years, the last thing you want to fiddle with is trying to open up a flimsy nylon case and try to pull out your gel when you need it most. Having the plastic belt clip built onto the neck of the canister makes us very simple and you simply clip the entire assembly onto your belt and you are ready to go and use immediately. Every second counts if you have an aggressive dog (or person) that you feel is a threat to you or your dog. If you use the aerosol version there is a much higher likelihood of the spray getting in your face or your dogs. Even on a day with no wind. The gel comes out via a narrow and direct stream of goo. It will hit your target and drastically reduce the chance of you or your dog being affected. Which give you precious time to immediately leave the area and seek assistance. Using something like this does not help you if you are affected as well...This also has the UV marking dye in it. This makes it quite easy to narrow down the person or dog who you were threatened by. Once a black light is shined on the person or animal, even after they recovered, they are going to glow under black light where the gel hit them. this is especially helpful when you know what yard the dog came from and you need help with proof in the event animal control or the authorities are called and the problem dog is back inside.Remember, always go gel, always go with a belt clip that is built into the canister, and only use when you are genuinely in fear of being attacked by a person or animal.

Don't get the small cheap sprays is my thinking because when you need it, really works !

I don’t normally write reviews on products, but felt compelled as this saved my life last night. I bought this spray almost a year ago and yesterday I was followed home while walking my dog by a man who attempted to break into my house. I luckily ran in and got this spray and used it on him, resulting in the attacker being hospitalized for chemical burns on his eyes and jailed by law enforcement. By having this I didn’t have to resort to using a gun and in the end everyone was ok. I couldn't recommend this enough as it saved mine and my families life. The gel was incredibly affective and took him down immediately, however you will get some spray back and residue on you. 5/5 will be buying myself more to replenish and keep on me when I go on my walks

I purchased this item to take with me on my hikes in case I have an unfriendly encounter with the area wild life that may get a little too close. It's small and handy to store away in my hiking pack. I've tested the item to check out how the fluid actually sprays out before I might need to use it, and the spray function works in a steady stream in a 3 to 5 ft solid stream. Overall I think this product works well and is very compact. Nicely done Ruger!
