I stepped out of my genre for this one. I needed a break from the Dirk Pitts and the Jack Reachers and Katwalk was about as far away as I could get. I wanted something very different and this book was a very nice diversion. This book took a little patience at first but only because it was so different from my regular diet.Katrina is a sweet innocent, very likeable. She has been sheltered by her job and her life. She is ripe for change but doesn't know it. Most people seek change on their own, some simply fall into it while others are forced. Katrina is somewhat forced and she handles it with caution and competence. The story moves smoothly and the characters stay within themselves. Occasionally the narrative shifts into the travelogue mode but if you are a New Yorker, or curious about New York, that can be a plus. I liked the little creative substructures of the characters that gave them depth, strength and credibility. You knew they were each individuals in addition to supporting Katrina's story.Katwalk is well-written, well-constructed and I liked the character very much. I would certainly buy a sequel.

This book was extremely entertaining and I really enjoyed it very much. I will look to read more books by Ms Murnane.

👎🏼
Sorry, but the story may appeal to teens, not adults, in my opinion.
