Honestly I have no issue with the handle. It’s tight fitting and the grain runs true. I use this a lot and have no regrets on the purchase.

Q: What steel is the axe made of? what hrc is it heat treated to?

The axe is made from forged C60 steel. I don't know the hardness, but it is a high carbon steel, so it is hard.

Q: One reviewer said the head weight is not 2 pounds as advertised - but then didn't say it's true weight!? Is it more or less?

I’ve not weighed it. It’s been a good purchase for me. It’s versatile.
