Total Distortion

I love it so much! It works perfectly on my Windows XP! Don't mind my last one, I was mad. It works now!!! Yay!!!

Total Distortion in the mid nineties was the embodiment of Metal. Your weapon "A guitar" Your plot "Make a music video" Your world "The Literal Ebodiment of all things Rock" In the mid nineties this game was so edgy with places like "Hell's Garage" that I felt a little guilty playing it. Now... What in Bill and Ted's grave happened? The graphics, at the time cutting edge, now feel like a poorly made CG B-Movie. It's not the fact they're poor that bothers me, its that they're disorienting. It connects with me in the same way a silent film does, yes it's well written, but it's almost painful to watch. Combined with squiggles and cute sound effects like a choir singing "yum yum" whenever you eat a sandwich "which were also cutting edge at the time" just throw me off now.Negatives set aside, This game is like nothing else that exists and was made in a time when you could still do that. The storyline is surprisingly good and making your own music video is a nice addition. Adding in the mild RPG elements of buying new guitars (which are stronger) and some mild puzzle solving with an extremely distinct "coffee shop" feel keeps me from not liking this game, but I can't see myself putting too much time into it.

I love the originlity of this game, based on how old it is. The game is very creative and I love the music....Here's the bad part, it's very easy to lose in the game, even on easy mode!you have to time your steps perfectly or else your going to run out of food or fuel. The first thing you have to do in the game is go to sleep, and sleeping in the game is as hard as s*** because your more likely to lose sleep when aleep...the hardest part of the game is probably not dying, because you constantly need to eat and go to sleep after all the damage the guitar warriors do to your life fource. And once again, your running out of life and fuel every moment in the game, so it's really important that you dont f*** up.I swear, the day I beat the game is the day pigs fly...
