Enjoyed it
I really enjoyed this. I got the first book in the series when it was free and liked it enough to buy this one. If anything, I actually liked this one slightly more than the last. I loved Nick with his somewhat fearsome reputation and disreputable ways. He was such an interesting character. I also loved Jemma and liked that she was so unconventional. There was plenty of drama and I enjoyed this book.

Wicked story!
Revenge may be sweet but it doesn’t come without many unexpected twists and turns. Then again may be love is sweeter! This is a ‘can’t put down’ book. Plenty of passion and skull-duggery and a neat twist at the end.

5 Stars
Another great book in this series. Loving these books on a Kindle unlimited. Couldn’t put it down. Highly recommended as it has it all. Great leading characters and a fast paced plot. What’s not to like.

Devil of a Duke
Devil of a DukeWhat can I say? Just another perfect book by the wonderful Kathleen Ayers. This series and the Barringtons…perfection.

Good Plot
Good plot, interesting characters but oh so many grammatical and historical errors. The author should do more research or set the books in America in a different historical period.

I usually love her books but this be makes me shake my head
Body shaming of two women within the first two pages. Yes they weren’t nice people, but instead of leading with that, the author decided to lead with the age and shape of the breasts of one woman, and the well worn body of the second for having too much sex.I know that this was done to illustrate the faulty thinking of the MMC, who we can see by page 4 is a psychopath, but it could’ve been done better.I’ve read so many of this author’s books and that’s why it’s 2 stars instead of 1 but I couldn’t even complete this one, it’s so distasteful. The MMC could not become likable after that.

Gripping story - believable romance
I'm a sucker for gun-toting, breeches wearing heroines who meet their match. There were some stretches in this story, but the characters including the supporting characters, made for a good read. Looking forward to the next in the series.

Some discrepancies!!!
Nick is supposed to be a devil with a foul temper! It was only a description!! Which scene did he act like a devil?1) Jem saved him from the 2 villains.2) He couldnt save himself or Jem from the governor.3) He didn't save himself or Jem from his sister's vindictiveness.4) Last but not least he didn't save Jem from the shooting of the governor's wife, even though Jem warned him about the gun!!5) One loose end is " Where is Augie?"

Excellent.
I enjoyed reading this novel..and am looking forward to reading the rest of the series. This is a well written book with a great storyline, a little bit of angst in places but I found the level manageable.Though a great read it shows Kathleen Ayers development as a writer as it hasn’t yet fully developed the outstanding magic of her later novels, that having been said it is still an excellent, entertainingly good read.

A good story
I had forgotten to go back to this series but I'm glad I remembered it! This was a good story with excellent villains, a believable plot of treason and lovers separated by misunderstanding. Nick and Jemma were fun characters and the story going between Bermuda and London very interesting.
