I have read so many reviews about the miracle of D-Mannose, but had to write one myself. As a hater of antibiotics (they kill off all good bacteria as well as bad and create strains of resistant "super bugs") I would jump through every hoop imaginable to try eradicating a urinary tract infection without having to resort to that dreaded prescription drug (cranberry, blueberry, gallons of water, cystex, etc), but when an evil one came on, I knew nothing would knock it out but antibiotics-- until--D-MANNOSE. All natural, and after a day of mega dosing (4 capsules at a time, every 2-4 hours, with as much water as you can drink)(I recommend waiting about 20 minutes after you down the first dose before starting to take in liquids) the symptoms are all but gone. After a second day, no more worries. It is truly distressing that conventional medical practitioners reflexively prescribe antibiotics even knowing the problems they are creating for individuals who rely on them, as well as generally in encouraging the mutation of ever-resistant bacteria, when there is an all- natural compound that has none of the adverse side effects, and is equally effective. If anyone is wondering, D-Mannose works by attracting the bacteria that cause a UTI away from the bladder wall and to the D-Mannose, where they are then flushed out of the bladder. The bacteria cling to the bladder wall because they are attracted to sugars that line the bladder, so when you give them a more attractive target (D-Mannose is a sugar- but you don't digest it so no calories-wow), they gladly let go and move out. Unlike antibiotics, the bacteria are not killed off, they are flushed out- End of science lesson-- Anyone plagued by UTIs should try this instead of calling the doctor for a script-- you will be amazed

For sufferers of UTIs that refuse to respond to medication, this is what you need! Medication never helped my mother, but D-Mannose is a real miracle for her. This is a natural sugar that is not retained by the body (not a weight-gainer). Simply stated, this sugar attracts harmful bacteria in the bladder, the bacteria clings to the D-Mannose, and during urination, the bad bacteria are flushed out of the urinary tract/bladder along with the D-Mannose sugar. There are no known side effects of D-Mannose. Follow the dosages and you will feel a million times better in a day or two. If you have trouble swallowing pills, no problem - these capsules easily dissolve in your mouth and have a pleasant sweet taste. Just be sure to drink a large glass of water with the D-Mannose so it can do its job.

Be advised for those seeking relief from UTI infections that D-Mannose is very effective for e.coli. It would be a good idea to get a urine culture to identify what type of infection it is. I had a severe UTI (confirmed by urine culture) and did not want to take antibiotics after one particular antibiotic was ineffective and worse, caused inflammation of my liver. Out of desperation, I took 4 grams of D-Mannose twice a day for approximately 5 days. I noticed a marked improvement of my symptoms within 12 to 24 hours. After 5 days, I titrated the dosage over another 5 day period to be sure all the infection was flushed out. I highly recommend this stuff!
