The lessons are laid out in a step by step format from simple to complex.

Well, I tried one of those 15 minutes a day online courses driving to work. Was not getting enough learning, fast enough. This book has a forward that will pull you into learning the language by providing context about history, culture, religion, and current usage. Still learning, feel better about it. Want to surprise my Filipina wife for our 10th wedding anniversary by being fluent and not stumbling through the few words I know now.

The book must be composed of screenshots of the book, because the print on my Kindle device made it way too small to read. There was no way to adjust the font size, so it would also be very difficult to read on a phone. I am using my iPad Pro to read it instead.

I enjoy the FREE audio portion. Spending a lot of time in the Philippines; this book is very useful

If you truly dedicate the time to studying, this book is a wonderful resource. Some of the concepts could use further clarification however it's unreasonable to expect a single resource to be a one-stop-shop when learning a new language. I highly recommend!

I've only looked at a few grammar books for Tagalog, but this is by far the best I've come across. I use this book with Rosetta Stone software and it has worked well for me. When I want to understand why something is a certain way in the software, I can easily look it up.

I originally bought this book for some self-paced learning, but found it a little hard to follow at first. Along the way there are exercises (like little quizzes, or homework) but alas there's no "answer key" so you can't get any feedback as to how well you did.I wound up signing up for an online Tagalog class, and they used this book as the textbook (so it was great, I already had it!) but we sped through the chapters pretty quickly.Thinking about finding another book, to go along with my apps and podcasts...
