Q: I need to send a signal to the Arduino to activate a switch will this board do that? Specifically is It able to send ether a digital or analog signal?

The shield sends and receives DMX serial messages through a special cable. It can’t be connected to simple analog or digital switch sensors. However, the shield does expose the Arduino digital and analog pins that you can connect to sensors in the usual way.
