My favorite watch
I have purchased about a half-dozen Freestyle watches in the past - and have them all - but love the look of this - and thought the price was reasonable - so after managing to justify another watch purchase - I went ahead and ordered this watch. It arrived quickly - and I have been wearing it for about a month now - and have to say I love this watch - it is very solid - looks great - and I have gotten a lot of compliments - recommend this very highly to anyone who likes a nice diving watch.

Great looking watch for the price.
It's a great looking watch and well made for the money. The secondary dials are a bit hard to read but I consider that an issue. I bought it for the overall aesthetics, not for actual diving use. But it is rated for 200 meters so feel to wear it the shower, in the pool or ocean or any other water related activity.

I love it!
I think this is the best watch I have, period. It's great looking, has a very tough quality, nice size and weight. And the quality of the build, it's impressive. Very well made, I'll buy another one to give to my father. He loved this watch!! Highly recommended.

Awesome watch
Took it down to 90ft in Jamaica and still works great

A Surfers Watch With Sex Appeal
Why do we have jewelry? 1. Functionality (a watch to tell time, or maybe a ring to let folks know you're married), 2. Sex Appeal (jewelry is an aphrodisiac of sorts), 3. To brag of ones (apparent) wealth ("dripping with diamonds"), or lastly 4. An investment (gold, diamonds, precious stones etc.). Well this watch is of course functional. Sure it tells time and tides and ET and other tricks, but the real reason I got this gift for my son is sex appeal. You know, sitting on a bar stool after a day on the ocean this timepiece is a magnet. He's a real surfer, and this surfers' watch says "real" big time. (Check out the picture on the Amazon website.) No kidding. He grew up in Manhattan Beach, CA, a block from the pier, and surfed daily from 7 years old on. And as an adult, he took a position in Hawaii, and while living on Maui for twelve years, again went out when ever surfs up. Oh yes, worldly too, like Indo, Fiji (Cloudbreak), Australia for a year, and even our East Coast (NC).I mention all of this because another Amazon fanatic pooh-poohed my comments on the first disappointing "surfer" watch I ordered (and immediately returned): A Casio that looked like a cheesy $7.95 plastic "disposable" from Wallys when it got here. This Freestyle Hammerhead Surfer Watch is a few more bucks but it is way cool. It even comes in a "Pelican-lookalike waterproof case". AND: It has REAL HANDS, not a funky LCD digital display. (Much easier to glance at on the fly: Your eye-brain need not make a number recognition-conversion; hands provide a graphic neural imprint of time.)That same person, presumably sarcastically, said "get your son a Rolex". That's amusing. 30 years ago a Rolex meant sexy; but now they're an overpriced, mechanical dinosaur. And dangerous. I had an Oyster that nearly dismembered me when I did a back roll off of a ponga in Baja scuba diving in the Gulf. (A ponga, FYI is what Mexican fishermen typically use: A very large wooden rowboat with a big outboard.) That sharp metal band snagged on a loose screw on the gunwale and I began to bleed. Fortunately the sharks weren't hungry or I WOULD have been dismembered! So what is my own watch like? Being a diver-not-a-surfer (other than occasional booger-boarding), it's an Oceanic Atom wristwatch dive computer with hose-less tank pressure reading, eliminating that cumbersome dangling reef-damaging "console". Oh yes, it costs 10X what this Freestyle Hammerhead does but worth it without that nasty hose.I gave this watch a four-star for two reasons. The stem is a taste hard to pull out (maybe that's good) and also people read four-stars; fivers are often overlooked, a ploy on my part so this stuff gets read.Anyway: My son loved his present and his buds and lady too were impressed and that's what a surf watch is about: sex appeal. Tide table dial? BFD, an unnecessary frill, the lifeguard's blackboard works just fine. Forget the Casio, go for this Freestyle zinger.

freestyle masrerpiece
Several years ago, I purchased a freestyle divers type watch. It was a very comfortale band, and the way the band was made caused it to be very secure on the wrist. The case is a masterpiece for a divers watch. This watch is a real winner. The watch that I bought several yeaars ago was very nice, but the Hammerhead XL is in a class of its own.

Bad deal
A friend of mine brought me the watch from the US.I had it for a week. I did not wear it because I did not want to scratch or damage it since I was working and I had an old $ 30.00 watch for working. In the week I had the watch I was wearing it for a day. The second time I wanted to wear the watch I noticed that the second's arm of the watch came off and was lying loose inside the dial.Imagine what else would have fallen apart if I wore it for the entire week.I think it was a real bad deal. The strap was also too small but that I will ignore because I have big arms. It's just that my $ 30.00 watch's strap fits great. Same with my Citizen and the Seiko I had.

Nice Surprise
Pleasantly surprised when the watch arrived. Not too heavy, and most importantly, the rubber watch band is comfortable. I have had several watches where the rubber watch band was just pure uncomfortable. Handsome dial, easy to read. Good value for the money.
