It's ironic that the book stresses "always double check spelling for accuracy." The book contains many typos. For one thing, it's "HIPAA" and not "HIPPA" (page 16). I wouldn't share this text with students in a medical scribe program.

Medical Scribe Training Manaual
Unless you are required to use this as part of training for MedChart, this book contains little of value for you. Much of this book is their policy and procedures and is useless for a scribe anywhere else. Most of the information applies to emergency room scribes and does not address scribes in medical offices. I was disappointed in the poor editing, spelling and grammar errors. Bumex is not Furosemide; Furosemide is Lasix, fact error. Telling scribes they cannot take a break is against the law, at least in the state I live in and I believe this is a federal law. The only thing I found of value was Chapter 15, Practice Clinical Scenario Scripts. However, since this book already contained so many errors how would a novice know if these are correct? The cost of this paperback, that is poorly written with incorrect information, is a waste of money.

Informative
This training manual has enough detail to train scribes how to effectively document and construct an H & P and plan of care. More importantly, it's shows how to integrate with physicians to make them more efficient in their daily practice. With the advent of the electronic medical record, scribes are clearly the future. This manual can help build a successful program.

Great Training Manual
This manual is more than adequate to use as a training manual for your medical scribe program. It contains about 60 pages of scenarios that enhance training.
