Q: I am concerned about the color. I prefer the darker bronze color is the bronzed taupe close to it

Mine is closer to a taupe than bronze, I do love it.

Q: What is the height from the floor to the first big horizontal rail (right where your mattress meets the bottom of the visible part of it.)

Roughly 28". I can tell you that we are using a 14" tall platform and our mattress is 14". That combination makes the top of our mattress even with the bottom horizontal rail/bar that's the decorative part of the headboard. Your experience could differ with where the top of the mattress meets that rail though, depending on if you're using traditional bed rails with a box spring or a platform foundation, the thickness of your mattress, or if your using a mattress topper. I hope that all makes sense and is helpful to you. I will also add that it's a really pretty headboard and well made. We're very happy with it. Lastly, if you decide to use a platform you will need to purchase specific mounting brackets that will allow you to attach the headboard to the platform.

Q: Some headboards specify that they come with extender legs to fit the new taller beds. Will this one work?

This headboard attaches to a bed frame. If the frame has longer legs, the headboard would be taller also.

Q: Will this fit a Cal. King?

Hi, I bought a queen size headboard and it is perfect for my queen size mattress. I would think the king size headboard would fit equally well on your king size mattress. The headboard is beautiful and I think it is a really good buy for the money
