MotorolaHD Multimedia Dock for Motorola ATRIX 4G-Motorola Retail Packaging

I retired my Atrix when I got the S4. I felt bad just letting it sit in a drawer, so I figured I would re purpose it.Pros:*Killer price! Since the Atrix is long discontinued you can get this for a steal*Has and HDMI out and a remote so this could be used as a multimedia hub say for a bedroom where you don't have anything other than a cable box.*Charges fast - not a real bonus for what I use it for buy hey it is a "pro"*Has USB ports so you can use other perhiperals with it.*Alows "Dock Mode" the main reason I bought this was to be used as a fancy alarm clock, I downloaded "Dock Clock Plus" it works well. At home I have wifi so besides being an alarm clock I get FB updates traffic and the weather. As well as access to all of my other Android apps.Cons:Will NOT work with a case. Main reason I didn't buy this when I had an active SIM in it, it only fits with a naked phone no case. Same reason I don't just use my S4 for this purpose I have yet to find a proper dock that is case friendly and I probably never will.

Its too bad that the HDMI cable that comes with the Atrix does not automatically give you access to the full browser experience. You have to get this dock for the full Firefox browser experience.What you get in the Multimedia dock kit is:* Sturdy dock that has good weight in the base to keep it planted on a desk top. The dock mounting area has a removable plate so you can stick your Atrix in even if you have a case on it.* An AC adapter for the doc* A Remote controlI only use the dock at home with wi-fi so there was no plans for using it with the phone's data plan.You do not need a bluetooth keyboard and mouse as the USB ports are perfectly fine if you want to use a wired solution plugged into the USB ports on the back of the dock.

HelloI bought this HD multimedia dock and was pretty happy about the price. I received the package promptly as per prime service.I was totally disappointed to see the the package only had the dock unit, no remote, no power supply, no instructions. As a matter of fact this was not even a retail package. The docking station was shrink wrap to a cardboard. I contacted Amazon who verified the package should have had the remote and power supply. So I got a return and replace requests and Amazon would ship a replacement.I received the replacement replacement package. It look good in a retail box, it was very good until I saw Amazon shipped the wrong item. It was an ATRIX 2 Vehicle Navigation Dock with Rapid Vehicle Charger - Car Kit. The warehouse had added the wrong label to the item.I got in touch with Customer service and got another return and replacement requests , but this time there was an issue . The item was no longer available as shipped by Amazon? So I had to place a new order and pay again, no big deal, right?I had them verify the items that were to be included in the package, which they agreed them it was supposed to have the 3 items included.The package arrived in a next day envelope. What the check.. again they shipped only the docking station. So the I return this last item and that is it. Tired of trying to get this Multimedia docking station. seller or item should be taken out of the list. I am very disappointed, was really looking forward to showing my videos from my phone in the big tv at home.

My poor Motorola Atrix has been through so much and yet it keeps surviving!I bought this dock after my Atrix had trouble charging with the original charger. I had to twist and turn the charging interface to get it to sit just right to charge, then sit it down just right and leave it alone till it charges. Even then, it may decide to stop charging and keeps beeping when battery is low. If not noticed when charging overnight, I'd have a dead phone in the morning. Bought a new charger which works like new for a week, then end up with same problem.I notice that my phone charges OK via my car dock. Didn't have to leave it long to charge, which prompt me to get this dock. Works wonderfully.My phone has been to the beach, drenched when my slingbag got wet washed by a big wave while we tried to retrieve a frisbee. Then somehow got wet in my zipped up pocket when I washed my car. But lasted beyond a year after that 1st incident.

The actual product works but I am unhappy about 2 things:1. They did not send the remote in the package. Neither Amazon nor the seller would make good and send a separate shipment with one. They just offered $5 off the price.2. The power cord is some whacky 2-piece cord that I could only describe as a 220 plug from your washer/dryer with a 110 converter on it with a fuse. I've never seen anything like this before ever. The power adapter is black and this unsightly brick of a converter is beige.

The features in general:- playing movies and showing pictures (just as if you connect the regular HDMI cable)- full access the the mobile view (as visible on the phone display)- access to documents- full Firefox web browserand all on the big screen - nice.So far so good. I nevertheless was disappointed and returned the item.First of all I was already upset, that you have to buy a Media Dock at all to access the WebTop functions. Why isn't connecting the HDMI cable enough?But one of my intents was to take this thing with me on the road and if necessary connect it to a TV or projector to give a little demo of a web application and show some PowerPoints - kind of a nice gimmick to use a phone for this instead of unpacking a notebook and so forth. But to use the Firefox browser you will need either a WiFi connection or you are required to have an "appropriate" AT&T data plan - you will see this message the first time you open up the Firefox browser. I have an unlimited data plan from AT&T, but that is not approriate enough, you will need a plan that includes tethering which would add another $20 on top every month. So if you buy this product be aware of this as this is not mentioned anywhere in the description.
