Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  “Hello Cuba” by Marty Noble contains 63 designs which is a great value as most Creative Haven coloring books contain 31 or less. I really like that the artist and publisher grouped more together in the one book rather than to spread it out over two books as well as over time. I hope to see more of this expanded subject style coloring book in the future.The designs are beautifully drawn as all of Ms. Noble's designs are. There is a wide variety of subjects, including: dancers, advertising (including vintage magazine covers), workers, vintage cars (which are still what are used in Cuba today), animals, flowers and plant life, beautiful landmark and other daily scenes, and of course, tobacco.When I think of Cuba, I think if beautiful color mixes. With its tropical locations, bright colors and light colors come to mind. With that in mind, the first two projects I colored in this book reflect that. I chose vibrant colors for the two female dancers and when with light colors when working on the vintage magazine cover. For these projects, I used a variety of alcohol-based markers and for shading, I used oil-based colored pencils. In order to preserve the rest of the book, I will either use a blotter page below the page I am working on or I will remove the page at the perforations before coloring.Gel pens and India ink pens leave shadows of color on the back of the page.Coloring pencils work well with this standard Creative Haven paper. Soft lead lays down good color, layers and blends well. Hard lead pencils leave dents on the back of the page.

I just received the Hello Cuba! coloring book and recommend it highly. The pictures lend themselves to bright and beautiful colors. There are pictures showing traditional Cuba culture, ladies with fans and their heads wrapped, a variety of birds, flowers and plants. Plus this is a substantial coloring book with pictures on one side of the page. This is why Creative Haven books are so popular. If you love Creative Haven coloring books, this is going to be one of your favorites. I would first of all say that this book is for the more intermediate to advanced colorist. It is full of gorgeous scenes for you to add color and pizaz. These are not sit down and finish a picture in an hour, pages. Depending upon how intricate you want to get, one page could take several days to complete......but oh it's soooo worth it. These are spectacular pictures.

Great book

As I had hoped this is a wonderful book. Once again Marty Nobel has out done herself. Love the detail of the drawings are great, and I'm sure the end result will be outstanding.

I visited Cuba recently and this is like a visual journal for me. A great way to keep lovely memories of a wonderful trip.

This is such a fun book to colour. I have a lot of Creative Haven books and they are very good value for money. This one is a thick book with such a wide range of topics to do with Cuba. Strongly recommend.

This book is a wonderful choice for anyone who wants to colour intricate designs or to have wonderful vignettes of old Cuba for reference purposes. The number of illustrations is impressive and the quality of the drawings equally so. You cannot go wrong with this book.
