Level 1 EV Charger (110V, 16A, 25ft), Portable EVSE Home Electric Vehicle Charging Station (NEMA 5-15 Plug)

This review is for the MEGEAR Level 2 EV Charger which I have been using everyday for 8 months now. We drive for about 80 miles everyday- sometimes more and this charger has held up fine. Reliability is probably the most important thing you are reading this review for, because its obviously one of the cheapest Level 2 chargers on the market and you want something cheap but will last right? I can say that the connector is a tight fit for our BMW X5 but for our Nissan Leaf it fits fine. Removing it from the BMW X5 takes alot more effort because of the connector latching mechanism tends to stick in the down position- so we have to push it into the vehicle before pulling it out. Overall I would recommend this charger based on the low price and the speed of level 2 charging. I will update this review if this thing ever breaks but 8 months in and still working.

If you are looking for an easy to use, user friendly L2 charger then the Megear will work for you. It's simply a plug in and walk away charger. It has worked for us flawlessly for 30 days and I have zero complaints. This is a 16 amp charger so be sure to check what the maximum amperage (PAR) your BEV or PHEV can accept. The power cord and the J1772 plug are very hardy and I can see it lasting for thousands of charges.To power this charger, I have the SplitVolt supplying the power utilizing my 240 volt dryer outlet.The downside to this "entry level" charger is that it doesn't have smart technology or app which would allow you to set your charge times in advance like some of the other chargers offer. For us, we have a set electrical rate so it works perfect for our needs. I highly recommend this charger for your charging needs.Patrick C.Weatherford, TX

It works (which is more than I can say for the charger that came with my mini cooper) AND it has a longer cord. No more backing off the park pad onto the grass to reach the outdoor outlet.

It stopped working after about 10 months of continued use. I contacted customer support and they asked me to make a video of me plugging in the charger to the outlet and then plugging in my car. When I plugged the charger out and back in, it started working again.******Update. It doesn't work anymore even when I plug it out and back in. This company is struggling to honor their warranty. They can't figure out how to get me a shipping label so I can return it for repairs.*******Update. They sent me a replacement charger. I looked at some if the other reviewers that had issues and I think they are right about the charger connector being the issue. Connecting and disconnecting was hard and I think that damaged the charger when I used it. The replacement has a different head on it and connects and disconnects a lot easier. The replacement is on the left in my photo. I just started using the replacement today, so we'll see how well it goes.

This is my first charger, so I have nothing to compare it to, but it works well for me. Yes, it is a level 1, so it takes a while to charge my car. I usually charge from 60% to 80%, which takes a long, long while. If you are looking for a quicker charger, or charging from a lower level, I would recommend you look at buying a level 2 (and having an electrician install it), or using a public charger.

Day one, brought this charger with me to charge for work. Used a standard 120v outlet with the provided adapter, and charged from halfway to full utilizing Level 1 charging. No problems.Day two, again, brought the charger with me to work to charge with the same exact setup mentioned above. Aftermarket Charging cable showed the last light light amber "Fault". I checked my car status, said it wasn't charging. Unplugged and tried it again, same results. "fault" indicator and vehicle showed not charging. Tried a different outlet, same results. Gave up, and used my old level one charging cable on the same outlet, worked fine.Day Three, got my adapter in the mail to use a 20a 240v outlet and try the level two charging with this adapter. Again, status light amber for "fault" would not charge. unplugged and tried three times, same results. I concluded that this only worked one time. I reached out for a replacement rather than a refund to see if its a fluke, and got a defective product. I'll update when I try the replacement.

I bought this edition because I did not have a 240 volt outlet in my garage. I happened to get a smart 240 volt splitter and and this charger cord off my dryer outlet. These products are affordable and portable. There is no need to get those $2,000 plus charger systems if you have the 240 volt outlet just buy one of these couple hundred doller chargers. This charger cord was exactly what I needed. I’ve ordered other MEGEAR 240 volt EV charger plugs and they’ve worked great. The plug and cable are very durable and I like the design of the holster, too.

Ordered this cable to trickle charge our Kia EV6, and as a portable backup cable. Works well off a standard plug outlet.After about 10 months the unit started displaying a mechanical fault when plugging into the wall, however the customer service was excellent. I contacted Megear directly, and they sent a brand new replacement free of charge.Would definitely buy from them again knowing they take care of their customers like this.

The media could not be loaded.  Viene en una caja blanca sin logos y dentro un maletín negro para fácil transportación. Lo utilizo con un Mini Cooper Countryman PHEV en una toma común y corriente y se carga en aproximadamente 3/4 horas. Hasta el momento sin problema.

Lo compré para mi Tesla pero da error sin embargo lo conecte a Nissan Leaf y sirve

Llevamos 15 días usando el producto y ha funcionado bien para un BMW 330e híbrido carga completa en 4 horas una vez al día por que el vehículo se usa solo para el traslado al trabajo en la ciudad (CDMX) se recomienda una línea de luz solo para eso ya que si se usa por ejemplo el microondas deja de cargar y hay que desenchufar y volver a conectar hasta ahorita 12 enero 22 estamos satisfechos
