Great new space for Arduino projects
This is a complex board but very cool. The built in WiFi and SD card is helpful for combined projects with cameras. The documentation for Mac users has some gaps, but the folks are ArduCam are amazingly responsive and have answered a wide range of questions I had (as a total intro user). One important note - this board (the v2 I have) uses a different USB chip than a typical Arduino. So you have to load the "CH340g USB-Serial" driver for Macs (PCs can see this one already).

Easy to use, great customer support.
Well made board that has direct plug in for the ArduCam Plus series cameras. Set up is easy and the example programs worked well. Will not work with older Rev B cameras which I found out the hard way. Customer service was excellent in helping me through the problem as they had not come across this yet. They offered to send me a new camera and ESP8266 board to correct the problem but I purchased a new camera. When I plugged it in it worked flawlessly. I will be using more of these boards.

Anticipating great things
At first my serial connector was very tight and communication via USB was NOT working. After multiple plug-ins, trying different cables, OSs and machines, it started working. Another review caused me to suspect the USB drivers. In fact, all my standard Linux and Windows drivers worked correctly without modification. (I do not have any Apple computers.) My initial problem with USB communication was the over tight USB connector that started making proper connection after multiple plug-ins.The built in WIFI is exciting and will allow much experimenting. The Arduino platform is great for connecting real physical world devices to a computer. The built in WIFI adds another layer of connectivity, connecting real world devices to a network.

Excellent board! Bought three!
Great product at a very good price. The regular arduino is about the same cost, but uses a much more limited chip. Plus, of course, this has wifi. The ESP8266 is taking the IoT world by storm, but for some reason, it hasn't migrated fully into the Uno form factor yet. Yes, several manufacturers have them, but not the big players, yet.The ESP8266 offers a lot more bang, more memory, much faster clock speed and you can use the Arduino ODE to program it. Plus, it has a full WiFi capability. This is a great quality board. It is from arducam and allows you to slap one of their great cameras right onto the board. Add a Lipo battery and you have a fully functional and programmable camera. Nice.

Buy this product with causion?
I bought this board to go with a OV5642 camera. Here is my experience over the last 4 months. The board will require a board manager that is not included with Arduino software. The download site for this software is not maintained and is often down for weeks. I final had support send me the software.THE BOARD: Only the A0 and GPIO0 can be used if you are also using the camera and that does not always work. The processor will send out garbage on a random bases if you use any other GPIO,If you use TXRX and the Camera you can't use the battery. No output.WIFI is flaky at best.Support is a 5 day wait when they reply. So buy with your eye's open.....

Camera does not work with SD card reader
Webserver works OK without the SD card, but SD card does not work with the camera.Example "..Capture2SD" always has SPI1 Interface error. Works OK with separate SD card on D3CS for SD card is the same as the TX (why would they do that?).Probably better off with a separate ESP8266 board and SD card so you can choose the SD CS pin.Separate SD card with CS on D3 works ok. Onboard SD card seems useless.

Love this board
Love this board. It keeps the same form factor and headers as the Arduino Uno but has many improvements. ESP8266 microcontroller so it is WIFI compatable, it has a micro SD slot, and a battery adapter to run the device from a 3.7V battery. Also most arducams will fit right into the camera headers on the board.
