Well Insulated, Paint Delicate
I've barely had this product for a week and I've noticed that while it performs its function EXTREMELY well, where hot liquids would remain hot for ridiculous amounts of time, I already have a scratch on the paint near the lip. And it's not just a blemish, but a straight scratch down to the metal underneath.Other than that, I once put hot water in it, steeped my tea, and left the mug out in my car in -10C weather lid off for 6 hours, and the tea was still too hot to drink comfortably.

Almost there
Probably my fault for not noticing, but I've already lost the lid, which is a bummer. Since it's not a flip-top, the only way to drink is to unscrew the lid.

Poor design for a tea thermos.
First Impression: This doesn't work for me. I like to remove my tea from the water once it's done brewing. This thermos requires you to put the tea in the main container and the tea leaves are filtered out as you drink it. It would work ok for making tea on the go by bringing an extra cup and tea leaves and just store hot water in this container. Then you could add the tea, and after about 3 minutes pour the tea out of this container into a cup, but that's a hassle, there has got to be a better tea thermos out there.1 month later: While I was originally disappointed at it's function, after working with the thermos for a week, there are a number of things I like about this thermos.1. I'm impressed with how well it maintains temperatures. I have to leave the lid off for a while for drinks to cool down enough to drink them, and I dumped ice water with solid ice cubes out of it today that I put in there 18 hours ago.2. The size is great, I can shove it in my coat pocket temporarily while fumbling for car keys, hat, gloves etc instead of setting it down somewhere like the ground or top of the car and risk forgetting it.3. It looks really great. I love the dark blue color and the chrome ring on the lid.4. The wide opening allows you to smell your drink.5. The tea strainer is actually great for keeping ice cubes away from your mouth when drinking cold drinks. I tried using it to brew loose leaf tea by putting the tea on top of the strainer and filling up above that mark, then dumping the tea, but saving tea for a second brewing was a mess. I tried storing the tea in the lid, but there isn't enough room and it just makes a mess. I finally bought a Frieling Gold Infuser, Tall , also available on Amazon and ditched the tea strainer that comes with the thermos. I was also using tea bags, or sometimes brewing in a separate container and then pouring into this one before I finally found an infuser that would work. But back to my original comment, I bought this particular thermos because I thought it would be useful for brewing loose leaf tea, other people looking at this thermos probably think the same, and it isn't really good at that, unless you buy the infuser also.To address other people's complaint that it leaks, I imagine that's possible. I think the lid is a pressure control device, it isn't useful for anything else that I've found, and if it were just insolation I think they would have made it a solid piece. So if you have it laying on its side or upside down for long periods of time maybe it would leak through the lid, I don't know and it hasn't happened to me, but I keep it vertical. It either sits in the cup holder of my car, on my desk, or conference room table. Having it briefly tilted while in my coat pocket does not result in any spillage. Only 3 stars because it isn't convenient for brewing loose leaf tea in the office on its own, and that was my original purpose for buying it. Adding in the infuser makes it a more expensive, though very good tea drinking experience. Frieling Gold Infuser, Tall

Best thermos mug EVER!!!
Firstly, I love the color of this mug. It isn't too girly glittery, but not too dull. I held off writing a review because I just didn't think this was what I wanted.I was looking for a loose leaf thermos mug that would keep heat but had mesh so I want drinking a bunch of leaves. The pictures make it seem that you don't have tip take lid off to drink from it. This was the main reason I bought it. You do have to unscrew the lid and drink from the mug part, bummer. I also wanted the mesh; while it does have one, it makes it pretty hard to remove the leaves when it is don't stepping so you don't over steep (it says to put leaves in the water and then put basket in) I know, 2 negatives and I have it 5 stars. Here is the reason, this sucker kept my tea hot for 9 hours. I work as a pharmacist and never get breaks, so I can't keep going to warm up my tea. I kid you not. This super light mug kept it at the 190 degrees for most of the dayand the outside of it was nice and cool to touch. I opened it and it was still streaming and I scaled my tongue drinking too quickly 5 hours after I filled it up; at 9 hours it was a nice hot drinkable temp. I also figured out how to take the leave out. I fill it yup with the hot water, put the mesh basket in, THEN put the leaves in the basket. I then put lid on right and turn it upside down for 5 to 7 minutes. Viola! Perfect steep. Take basket out, dump leaves. While I still don't understand the complicated lid setup (yes, I know it is creating the vacuum), it is the kinda product I can't say enough about. I don't usually do reviews, but this is a sound investment. Though, it is more than usual mugs, you will end up saving time, money, and cabinet space as you will never need another once you get this
