Love My New Bible!
I spent a lot of time searching for another bible and this is it.My first bible was given to me in grade school, The New Testament pocket size. I bought my first bible in 1982 and it was actually the NKJV 1982 version so I had it for 41 years. It's 'very used' having a lot of highlighted scriptures that are all written down on paper. Lots of personal experiences there that I look over once in a while. It's beautiful with red gilded edges that are starting to fade.I wasn't sure if I wanted a more updated version but ended up getting this black one with the larger print, same version as mine but with gold edges (can't find red). I'm still good with reading the smaller print but I want to use this new one just to read and not write in it. My 1982 version I will still use, the work I put in is amazing. There is a lot more in the Concordance in this new one than my older bible and the only thing different is that this new one doesn't have the abbreviations for each book and the key to pronunciation. I like the extra maps in the new one. I love the cover and the thin pages I was looking for, just like my older bible. The cover is soft and flexible also.I already know what I will be reading first in my new bible, I bought a case for it already. I recommend this version, you won't be disappointed!

Quality and comfort in one bible
This Bible is an absolute joy! The quality is fantastic, and the large font makes reading a true pleasure. I can spend much longer in God's Word without eye strain, which is exactly what I was hoping for. Highly recommend!

Excellent edition at a great price; 6 stars
I bought both this black one and the dark purple embossed one for gifts and for my own use. These are excellent Bibles and such an excellent value for the quality. The print is large and easy to read with good spacing between the lines. There is line matching so the reverse doesn't show through, and the Bible lies open easily at any location. It has two nice satin ribbons and has edge gilding. It includes some references, a concordance, and maps. These are features that are like those in very expensively bound Bibles (Allan and Schyler), of which I also have several. I'd be satisfied with having only this edition, though, as it's very easy to read and use, and I'm using mine a lot. Overall, especially for the price, it's the best edition I've found, and I've looked at many and own quite a few. I hope Nelson always keeps making this edition. The New King James Version translation is a well recognized, mainstream translation in modern but not dumbed-down English that has been used for decades. It's my overall favorite translation of the Bible. (I also like the KJV, ESV, and NASB-95.) This translation is a more literal, word for word translation (which I much prefer) than a thought for thought one. It retains the beautiful language and accuracy of the KJV but in more modern English. (No "-eth" suffiixes, "you" instead of "thou," etc. The meanings have not changed.)You can't go wrong with this edition; great print features and of course the content is what is most valuable.
