Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom
I recommend this book to anyone who feels uneasy with the status quo in the institutional church regarding women; Mrs Hyatt uses the best EXAMPLE: Jesus. She opens up His attitudes and directives about women through examining the text of the gospels and it's like a breath of fresh air.Our ultimate authority is God's Character. Who He is--His Heart towards us--this is the revelation. Susan's book is simple and direct. Jesus is direct too. Our God is a God of Freedom, not control. I've viewed the issue of women in the (institutional) church with a sense of caution and navigated carefully. This may be the most explosive issue in the church--though few pastors/leaders would admit that. Viewing women on equal terms is usually thought of as feminism (though feminism is often a worship of the masculine traits rather than a celebration of the true feminine). Thus, equality is never embraced.I believe the true Church will arise and be set apart precisely in how men and women relate: as sons and daughters of God; co-regents in the Spirit and amongst one another. This comes from growing up; maturity is rare--and getting it right in this area calls for spiritual adulthood in both the male and female.

Very good.
Although this is not a scholarly book per se, it provides new perspective into Jesus' inner circle as never seen before. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an easy read on the subject of Jesus and his interaction with women.

A Must Read For Christian Women
This book reconciles many misinterpreted passages that have been used to suppress and subjugate women over centuries. Should be on every Christian woman's reading list.

Poor "print" quality an issue.
I liked the book, but some text was unreadable because it overlapped on the pages.

Wonderful Brief Book
This book is concise, clear and wonderful news for women. There is a lot of confusion about how Jesus' interactions with women are interpreted, analyzed and dissected. Jesus' interactions with women were intimate and intentional. The author clearly and logically shows how much Jesus really valued and understood women. The book is very brief, but rich in thought.

Big things in little packages
A small book with a life changing concept. I'm digging deeper. Thank you for sharing the heart of God to us. Jesus truly came to set the captives free!
