Q: When running lightroom on my mac mini, i get a lot of interference, but it stops when switching to another program. anyone know why?

Hi. I'm not a mac user, but typically software has quite a lot of control over video display, resolution, color space. If you only have the problem with this light room program, it's most likely that you need you to either update your O/S, or update the light room program, or maybe both need updating, the makers of the lighroom software would be best placed to help you.

Q: Can you split the monitor in half like you'd do if you had two physical monitors?

Yes, you can. You can split the screen of the monitor depending on which Windows software you're using. It also has a feature called Easy Setting Box which enables users to use the monitor by partitioning multiple sections. It’ll let you resize, adjust, split, and align your windows within the Windows OS, so you can use the entirety of the screen when multitasking. To install the latest version of Easy Setting Box, download it from the Samsung website. You will need a minimum of Windows 7 and at least 32MB of memory. ^EM at Samsung Support

Q: Does the monitor come with a power supply with a proper UK plug ( Not a adapter with a EU Plug ) ?

Yes it does it is a 3 pin plug, straight into the wall socket.

Q: The displayport is a mini or normal one?
