Consumer Reports compared 7% Picaridin products with 10% DEET products against aggressive (Aedes spp) mosquitoes which may carry Zika virus and less aggressive (Culex spp) mosquitoes. They found both repellents prevented bites for about two to three hours with the aggressive species, eight hours for less aggressive species.
