Trim head too small to hold long term
Installed these trim screws on cedar deck two (2) years ago and the most consistent issue that I've come across is that the head of the screw is too small to provide long-term holding power. When the wood dries/shrinks, you start to get loose/squeaking boards that require you to go back with screws that have a larger head to hold the board in place.

Precisely what we were looking for for our decking project woes
We were having all sorts of troubles with anchoring the stair treads and risers on our composite decking project (Azek/TimberTech). The screws that the manufacturer recommends for attaching their product simply were not working properly on the stair stringer. Even on actual deck boards that we had to face-fasten, they really only worked properly maybe 90% of the time. The other 10% of the time, they spun out before properly sinking, causing all sorts of headaches. The stairs were yielding a much, MUCH lower success rate and I had had enough. Instead of fighting with those manufacturer=recommended screws, I opted for these as a replacement. And they worked brilliantly. 100% success rate. Couldn't be happier. Highly recommend.

My go to stud screws
Sturdy and nicely finished. Great for attaching 2x4 studs together.I love the no slip torq heads on these, as does my impact driver. Far superior to a cross head. And just the right taper on the head to self countersink into pine wood without having to pre drill one.

Good but understand their purpose
... that these are trim screws with a *small* head. They will countersink/bury themselves (with minimal splitting), as opposed to what happens with larger-headed screws that tend to pull down with more force (sometimes useful, but risks splitting). Rated five stars because they do work as advertised, but I was a bit disappointed that they strip fairly easily when backing out. Not only is it a small head, it's also a correspondingly small star/torx that is less robust than the more common larger torx size.
