A Brilliant Cautionary Tale
This is probably my favourite children's Hindi book. The Hindi is simple, the font is clear, the story is entertaining and the pictures are gorgeous. The point of this book is obviously to teach children not to just eat whatever they find! A wise piece of advice. The story is about two baby chickens, one yellow and one red. Yellow likes to eat yellow things and Red likes to eat red things. Red finds a bush of chillis - you can imagine what happens next. While poor Red coughs and splutters mournfully, his mother and brother look on in shock until Yellow has the nous to go and get a yellow thing (looks like corn) and gives it to Red. Red eats it and recovers and they all have a group cuddle.Obviously very useful for parents like me who have chilli growing in the garden!Like all children's books, this is great for adult learners of the language too.

This is one of the best Hindi storybook for kids 0 to 4 years old. It has a very simple short storyline with graphics that make the kid want to read the book again and again. That is what my 2-year-old son does.

Cute but arrived in somewhat bad shape. Okay though since my niece probably would have put it in a similar state quite quickly.
