I had planters in the sunroom that had no drainage and decided I needed planters with a drain pan. I thought I didn't put a lot of water on the plants but water will still go through to the drain pan in these and I'll empty it once in a while so I think my plants in the old tray with no drains would be water logged. Stuff grows well in there. In the trays is cilantr (we like to cook Mexican) and arugula. Left is a papaya tree and right is basil. I like the smaller size so I can be more "granular" in what I grow.

Smaller than I thought, but ended up that they were the perfect size for the windowsill. They hold two to three smaller plants and work well for indoor herbs. I would purchase again.

Used as a window box for herbs

Some reviewers complain that they’re smaller than they expected. Some of the pictures in the listing are deceptively photoshopped and look much bigger than the actual containers. However, the measurements are correct. The parts that hold the soil are 12 inches long, less than 4 inches wide and a little more than 3 inches tall. They feel sturdy and the color is accurate (beige/tan with brown bottom to catch excess water). Perfect for windowsills!
