For a $176.00, you get what you pay for. Bass is boomy at freq above 90mhz and there is no auto shut off, which means sub is alwayson. Bass below 90mhz is ok, just don't expect any thing distortion free at loud levels. I'm not an expert on subs, but you have to adjust sub turner setting for each type of surround setting other wise sub sound like crap. Overall i would rate this a C+ even at a bagin price of $176.00I think this sub retails for over $400.00 and was expecting the quailty of a $400.00 sub very missleading on my part to gauge quality based on price. I know in the past when buying speakers the expensive ones always sounded better the the cheaper ones.

We lost our sub woofer - 150 watt Pinnacle - this one has much more bottom for our larger, tiled room.
