whats the diameter of the widest part of the serrated part? thankyou

Kind of hard to measure but my reading is between 3/4" and 7/8"---works good but not on peppers smaller than that

Has anyone used this to core out zucchini squash?

Yes, I’ve tried to use it for coring zucchini but it bends too easily

Would this work to core an onion to make blooming onions?

I don't know how one goes about making a blooming onion. I would say no to this tool. It scoops out seeds and veins inside small peppers.

Does this work well on large red and yellow peppers or is it better for small ones?

One does not need a special tool for large peppers. This is for the small, hot ones, ones with 3/4 to 1 1/2 inch ice tops!
