Seawhite Black Cloth Hardback Sketchbook A4 Portrait

Good paper, comfortable size. Can use for multi media pictures or just watercolor if you prefer. A good all around useful book for pen as well.

The sketchbook itself is well made, it looks so nice. The paper is pure white and has a good weight to it. ink looks lovely in it and it takes light washes with little water well enough, gouache looks like in it... however, i wouldn't recommend this for wet media at all, especially watercolor. watercolor looks terrible on this paper, it both sits on top and doesn't adsorb evenly, and any attempt at working the paper or blending lifts the paper grain, which is disappointing. Another strange thing I've encountered now being 12 pages in is that the paper seems to easily lift the product of the opposite page and transfer it onto the opposite page, so if you are using this for any kind of finished pieces be prepared to have them ruined when you close the book ( this happened on every single pg no mater the type of paint medium used.) or i guess just use one side of each page for your work.

I was searching for something like the Moleskine Art Plus sketchbook - simple, slick, black. But I didn't want the cream/ivory pages of the Moleskine but bright white pages which this sketchbook does provide. I love that the pages are thick enough for most media yet smooth enough for coloring pencils and drawing. And of course, I also love the pages are bright white. The only tiny issue some people may have is that this book is hardcover so it may be a little heavy and the cover may collect dust. Otherwise the paper, the binding and the book itself is pretty good quality and for half the price of the Moleskine one!

Its very nice, paper quality is excellent, hardcover is very sturdy. Only two drawbacks; paper is so good, makes you reluctant to sketch ironically, and for the price, there are few pages. Overall, would recommend.

I do a lot of work with ink, sharpies in particar, and the paper is thick enough it doesn't bleed onto the next page, which is great! The binding also seems pretty solid.

Fantastic sketchbooks

This book is very sturdy inside and out! The cover is hard but that doesn't make it impossible to keep open while painting. Which brings me to my reason for loving this sketchbook! I have used markers and gouache paint in it and the paper holds up amazingly well. No bleed through and only slight buckling, which doesn't really matter to me personally for a sketchbook.I highly recommend this to anyone who wants a large, inexpensive sketchbook!
