One of the best books out there for dialogue writing.
Many books tend to give different rules for writing dialogue. You will find that some books will tell you to avoid dialogue tags because it is a method that was common during the Jazz age of writing. Modern writers tend to avoid dialogue tags. However, writing is a subjective art. No two writers will write dialogue in the same manner. I for one use dialogue tags and find that they work well for expressing the non-spoken aspect of communication. The Dialogue Thesaurus is the perfect tool for the writer who uses dialogue tags to explore every depth of his characters and to allow readers to look into the mind of the characters. Yes, every writer should own a copy of this book in their writer's library. And for the record, the Jazz age writers had it right when it came to dialogue. Modern writers are just pure lazy.

I like it because there is good helpful information and it is easy to use. It is organized such that I am able to use it in different ways. Sometimes I look for one thing and end up being inspired to go with something different. This was a good purchase.

So thorough
This is the type of book for every writer's shelf. She painstakingly writes out for any thought process, gives examples. Focuses on emotion types, or body parts from which dialogue can focus from. Amazing.

Let's talk about it for a minute!
I was surprised at how good this book was. Lots of ideas in alphabetical order. Most dialogues are boring, even if they are central to the plot. Now our characters can be much more emotive in the way they express themselves.

It's hard to think of dialogue tags
I want to get past he said, and she said. Hopefully, this book will help me do it.
