Ocean salt: A likely solution to the problems of modern agriculture
I bought this book out of curiosity and realized I had struck gold. The empirical approach followed by Dr. Maynard Murray to test and verify the benefits of enriching the soil with the raw minerals found in ocean water is a work of genius. As often with geniuses who were ahead of their time, this groundbreaking work fell into oblivion.Charles Walters does a fantastic job of recounting this amazing story. Using ocean solids (i.e. raw sea salt) on a large scale would revolutionize modern agriculture. It would also probably rescue it from the curse of depleted soils poisoned with pesticides and herbicides, without reducing crop yields, the new gold standard of farming. There is fortunately a way out of the dilemma organic farming versus productivity. This book is also about this essential issue of quality versus quantity. We can feed the world and keep it healthy at the same time. This is great news for all those among us who want to preserve our God-given creation as a natural environment, free from the destructive side-effects of industrialized agriculture. The only weak point is the wording and structuring of some sentences which are a little challenging for the reader at times. That being said, this small detail does not detract anything from the strength of this book's message. Every person seriously interested in organic / natural agriculture should read it.

Indispensable
As a follow up to Sea Energy Agriculture, this book is essential.Written towards the end of Charles Walters' illustrious career,it details the vital contribution of ocean water's rare minerals tooptimal human health. As an aside, I visited an engineer here inEcuador who has worked with ocean solids his entire career. He was aware of the major seven elements -- (hydrogen, oxygen, sodium, chlorine, calcium, magnesium, and sulfur) -- found inocean water, but had no knowledge of the other 90. We knowso much about the macronutrients, and so little about the microand their importance. If more farmers, agronomists, doctors, dietitians, and those in theirallied disciplines were aware of the contents of this book, the world would be a very different place.
