I am a huge fan of Danner work boots as I have a wide foot and narrow heal and they have always worked for me and last forever. I am a field biologist and just broke out my 3rd pair of work boots. Bought 1st pair in 1996 second in 2006. Because the work boots fit my foot so well, I turned to Danner for a light weight hiking shoe and was excited when I recieved these. These shoes met the positive reviews. Were comfortable the minute i put them on, felt better than my Merrills and are wellmade. They felt a little flat for my arches and if I had not had otger issues would have put different insert in to solve rhat. My unfortunate problem is that I had the same problem I have had with all hiking shoes: my heal slid causing instant hotspot and without moleskin would have been huge blisters;but I think this is an issue of my foot and not the shoe! Which is why I am giving 4 stars. I would also say that if you are closer to a 9 1/2 you will find this shoe a little on the small side. I went on a 9 mi hike and only had problems with my heal. Unfortunately cant return as shoe is now dirty. Looking at Danner hiking boots too see if will solve heal-slip problem.

First time to try Danners, and among the four different hiking shoe candidates I ordered to try on and compare, this one is heads above the others in cushion and overall comfort. I could imagine wearing them for hours on a trail, although I haven't hiked in them yet, so maybe my review is a wee bit premature, having only walked on paved and gravel roads. But they feel fabulous -- great fit, cushion under the ball of my foot, snug heel box with no rubbing -- couldn't be happier. Big step up comfort-wise from my Merrill Mesa Ventilators, which I have had three pairs of.

I have a farm and am constantly going from meeting to field to customer service to greenhouse. These shoes are holding up super well to the wet, rocky, dusty conditions that they’re regularly in (running shoes do not) and I appreciate that they’re less aggressive looking than hiking boots so when I’m meeting non farmers I don’t look ready to Sherpa them up Kilimanjaro.

I want to give these 5 stars because they are really comfortable (perfect for wide feet) and have a great grip on rocky terrain. They also felt stable for a shoe that’s basically a hiking sneaker. The only downside is that they aren’t very durable and are fraying after less than 2 weeks of use. I’m tempted to try a replacement pair because I really want to like these, but they’re my first pair of Danners so maybe this is normal for the brand. I wore my Altra sneakers on similar terrain for close to a year before ankle started fraying in the same spot.

I am a big fan of Danner shoes. I’m usually a size 7 in most other shoe brands and actually an 8 in my ASICS running shoes, but I am a 6.5 in Danners. These shoes fit snug when I first put them on, and I was worried I went to small. I think they are designed to fit snug. Just like my hiking boots, these shoes stretch to fit me perfectly. I bought these to wear with my thin short socks. If I wanted to wear a thicker sock, I would need the size 7. These shoes are perfect for hiking and gravel road waking. No dirt or rocks getting in. And zero breaking in time. They are just the best shoe brand I’ve ever owned.

OMG all day! I love, love, love these shoes. They are especially great on my narrow feet but more than that, they support my high arches, never gave me a blister and I wear them to do everything, hiking (even through streams), trail running, disc golfing, camping, etc. I've worn the heck out of them and they clean up like brand new everything. I may eventually have one of every color in my closet in the near future!

Right out of the box the Danner's were crazy comfortable. I have been on three long walks/hikes with them so far and my feet feel no pain or discomfort. I almost want to say that I can't tell I have them on (that's how comfy they are).Very happy with the purchase and I would and HAVE recom(m)end/ed these hiking shoes to friends.Also, they are very cute.

Purchased these hiking shoes in April 2021, and have enjoyed them during spring and summer walks. Very comfy. HOWEVER, less than a year in, the seams started to come open. I reached out to Danner, but because I purchased through Amazon, they can not exchange or refund. so Amazon... the return window is closed and I found no way to initiate communication with you about this (other than this review!)... how do we remedy this? Thanks!
