I have spent a small fortune on guitar books in the past and could have taken early retirement if I had saved the money I have shelved out on learning materials which promise everything but ended up leaving me frustrated; mainly due to the writers not being able effectively transfer a knowledge of their instrument and provide explanations in a way that helped me apply the information presented effectively. This book is entirely different. The approach is simple but wonderfully effective in providing a way to see scales on the fretboard and gradually use them as shapes within shapes. It might not be for everyone, but it suits my learning style perfectly. If I had only one book to start with it would be this one.
