Never buying again
This hair tube color was open when I got it I am trying to get my refund but the seller is making this issue a lot more longer and complicated that needs to be. Asking a lot of questions and refusing to prosess my refund . I do not recommend it

This is a beautiful color.
This is a dark blond shade (level 7 in Koleston is really a level 6; it runs a level dark because it's made in Europe where the level system is different) with a neutral (0) brown (7) base. The brown base is unique to Koleston, I know of no other professional line that has it. This shade is a half shade of the Koleston shade 7/7. This means it is diluted by half. The brown base contains a small amount of copper and in this hue it is very subtle. It will produce a bronze dark blond. My hair is a natural level 4 and I use this with a 30 volume peroxide, which lifts 3 levels. The result is a beautiful dark blond with a very slight tinge of copper. I am about 40% gray and this shade looks completely natural. I discovered Koleston years ago by accident while searching for hair color advice. I found out that Koleston is a leading professional brand. This product in the purple tube is the old formula of Koleston but it works as well as the new blue tube formula. In case this is your first foray into Koleston, here is the key to the numbers (and for the number of the demi permanent formula Color Touch). 1=ash (green-cancels out red tones), 2=blue (cancels out orange tones), 3=gold, 4=red, 5=red/violet, 6=violet (cancels out yellow tones), 7=brown, 8=blue (cancels orange-for lighter hues), 9=cendre (gold-in lighter hues). I can't say enough good things about Koleston. It is not like any drugstore color. There are an infinite number of shade combinations so almost any hue is possible. However, there are very few violet based options and this is a problem for those seeking platinum blond. In drugstore color, there are few clues as to the base color of the shades. For example, ash can be green, blue or gray and there's no way of knowing what you're getting. That is why you rarely get the color on the box. Everyone's hair is different. Those who are brunettes who want to lighten their hair have a problem with either red or orange, depending on the individual's base color. Too much red or orange ruins the results. With Koleston, that isn't a problem. Simply pick the correct base color. I was a level 8 blond for years and I used Koleston 9/8 (remember it's not a level 9 but an 8) with a 40 volume peroxide. I had the perfect blond for my light, but not fair, skin tone. If you are considering this shade (7/07) consider using 7/73 which adds a subtle golden hue to the brown base. It's simply lovely. The 7/07 is a diluted 7/7 and the 7/7 is beautiful too. If you want to try on a color, use Color Touch. Most of the Koleston shades come in the Color Touch formula. Use Color Touch with the Color Touch developer in 4% (1.9% is too temporary) or for longer lasting results use it with a good (no generics please) 10 volume developer (10%). You can combine 7/73 and 9/73 (in equal parts) to get an 8/73. Color Touch runs at least 2 levels dark. If you want to try on a color, go up two levels. If you have questions, don't be afraid to ask. I have used Koleston and Color Touch for 10 years and have changed my hair color frequently so I have expertise in almost all of the shades and combinations. Koleston gives nonstop shine that lasts (as does Color Touch) and the color stays true. I can't give it a higher rating than 5 stars, but if it were possible, I'd give it ten.

Boy, I love the color and my hair is soft, too!
After spending a fortune on dying my hair over the years I decided to try to do it myself. The box sets never work that well, so I decided to try professional color. Again -- some research showed that people love this brand. I bought the developer that you also need, some gloves and a little mixing bowl & brush... Now, my hair is short and that may make this easier to do -- but it has worked great! I bought one tube a few months ago and where one tube may be one use for many (or maybe 2 uses) I have actually gotten FOUR uses out of one tube!!! Price wise I've probably spent less than $5-10 per coloring (compared to $100+ at the hair dressers)... I'm about to reorder!

Works great for me.
This is actually a level 6 shade because Koleston runs one level dark. It's warm but not overly so. It has a brown base, which adds richness. I actually use this in conjunction with 8/7 and I get a warm level 6 1/2 blond. Koleston is far superior to box color or the junk Sally's sells. It's a true salon brand that delivers salon worthy results. The pigments are translucent so there's tons of shine and highlights and lowlights. It looks totally natural. It also covers gray completely. I can't say enough good things about Koleston. I've used it for 10 years and really love it. I would never use any other brand of hair color. The first time you use it, you will see a stark difference between Koleston and box color or any other brands. The shine is great and it leaves hair soft and supple not dry and flat. This is a great shade that's perfect for me. When mixed with 8/7, I get a gorgeous warm blond without brassiness. I definitely recommend Koleston and this shade in particular. If you want salon results, you have to use a salon brand and this one is second to none.

High Lifting
I normally like Wella products, a brand with a good reputation. I gave it 3 starts because I think there may be some unrealistic expectation involved in what a product like this can do, but I won't use it again. I am senior, think 60s, and have some grey, some nice silver streaks which I was looking to enhance since my normally dishwater (but not dark) blonde hair doesn't seem to cooperate with greying as I would like. I now have an unattractive for my age, complexion and style shade of orangey-yellow, some gold blonde hair, but did keep my silver streaks intact. Not happy, embarrassed to go out like this, but mistakes are made, oh well. Yes, I followed the instructions carefully; yes, I watched many, many youtube videos. No, I'm o stranger to lighteners or lightening my hair. And, it dried out my hair quite a bit.

tube had too much air trapped in it
The tube had so much air trapped in it. When I tried too squeeze some of the color out to mix it, the tube broke at the sides and product squeezed out the sides of the tube, it was a mess. I will not be using this company again.

Better than re-dying when dye fades
To start, my hair is natural med brown that I have regularly dyed for grey coverage. The proplem is that while the dye coverd the grey, it eventually washed out to a gross reddish brown. So I would redye my whole head every 6 weeks and then the ends would get super dark and it was just a mess. Which lead me to this product.I used 1:1:1 Water, vol 20, this intense ash. (I didnt have Vol 10, so I used water to dilute the 20 vol I had on hand.) Processed for 20 min. Rinsed, then used regular conditioner.Afterwards, my hair is only a fraction darker, and mostly it did tone 90% of the red.So I will try this again. My hair feels good too.

Great product, lengthy wait.
This product was reasonably priced and worked really well. I would definitely buy it again. The seller was great to work with, but, being overseas, I needed to wait several weeks for delivery. I would order several in one order next time, so I had a good supply.
