good for general aviation night flying
I tried to buy this direct from the manufacturer, but somehow they were unable to get their logistics in order, but they do make a fine flashlight. I like having all the colors available for reading charts, although I am, as yet, unable to reliably select the color I want in the dark.

Beautiful and useful flashlight
I bought this flashlight so that I could sneak into bed without waking my early-to-bed husband. I was intrigued while reading about flashlight colors that are supposedly better for night vision and not disturbing those in the movie theaters, etc. - but which color(s) would be best in my case?I was torn between the different color combinations offered by flashlights for sale on Amazon and this flashlight solved my problem by just having everything (except UV and a laser pointer, which wouldn't be terribly useful for my purpose, anyway). You have 6 led bulbs: 3 standard white light that light up the whole room, and one each of red, green, and blue. It uses 3 AAA batteries (supplied).Red, green, and blue are all supposed to be better for preserving "night vision" (although I did read an article that stated that this is not entirely accurate and pushed for just a very low white light). Red and green are supposed to be good for map reading; green and blue are good in smoke-filled rooms - but I really don't want to find out about this first hand!; green is supposed to not freak out animals at night and not disrupt night vision goggles; blue is supposed to be good for seeing bodily fluids, such as animal blood - good for hunters - and cat pee - good for cat owners :) I can't guarantee that this listing is completely accurate, but you can now at least see why I just went for the four-color flashlight over trying to figure out which one or two lights would work best for me. And, boy, have I had fun playing with this thing. The flashlight is small (3.75" long) and fits nicely in the hand. It is very solidly built. Each light has its own switch and you can put on any combination for colors. It is easy to figure out which switch is which in the dark: if you hold the flashlight with the indentation area for the lanyard (not supplied) at the base of the flashlight on the bottom (feel with your little finger), the button on top (where your thumb is) is for white, the button for red is *surprise* to port/left, the button for green is *surprise* to starboard/right, and the button for blue is on the bottom. Very clever! The best color for not waking up the spouse was *drum roll* the red color! Maybe I'll let you know the best one for map reading. Oh, and I should check out the cat pee feature of the blue light. If you love flashlights, this product is a must have. If you are not a flashlight lover, this is a great all-round flashlight to have. Highly recommended!

Cool lighting but a bit costly
Nice build, good battery life, cool colors. The white is amazingly bright (for cheapy LEDS without a real reflector) and the beam shot is good (nearly artifact free). Color is purpley but that is really to be expected. The white button switch is knurled so it is easy to orient in the dark. The LED colors are not as nice beamshot wise (very artifact-y) and don't blend as well. They are bright enough for what they need to be, but not as good as I was hoping for (smooth, floody beamshot). All the buttons are anodized aluminium and although they seem a bit loose, all are working with a good positve click (I've run them on and off several hundred times already). I do worry that they may catch on a pocket as the light is beign removed, but being careful should allow a LONG service life for the buttons. I'm a little concerned that the LEDs aren't covered with a lense, as pocket lint is going to get into the head. Knurling is good as is the HA finish. The 3 cell AAA holder is the BEST I have even seen and the DUracells that came with mine were fresh (Best by March 2019 date). My light came with a bit of a rough edge by the keyring hole (no big deal but I'm going to have to file it off therby removing the anodizing). Coast is still offering the free flashlight deal so you can go to their website and check it out.

Conveniently sized 4-color flashlight
This is a very handy flashlight. It is very small, so I can fit it into my pocket or purse easily. This was a major factor in my decision to buy it, as I wanted it to be readily available wherever I go. The white is very bright and uses three of the bulbs while the other colors use only a single bulb each and are therefore not as bright. However I use the other colors to preserve my night vision, so I don't need them to be as bright. The buttons are raised, which makes them very easy to find in the dark, but as others have mentioned they frequently get pressed by accident. In fact, the flashlight was turned on inside the package when I received it. The battery life is nearly ten hours, which is fine as far as my normal use goes, but a significant portion of it can be wasted by this accidental usage. It uses AAA batteries though so they are simple enough to replace.Overall I am very satisfied with this flashlight and would recommend it to others. Just be careful how you store it so you don't find the batteries dead when you need it.

Individual color selection Coast TX10 Quad color 80 lumen LED flashlight
For a 73 lumens flashlight, it's adequate for all around use. The green and blue buttons were pushed in a little but still works. I like how you can individually turn on each color leds in any arrangement for neat effects without cycling through it, you can have them all turn on, which i did but of course that would eat up the batteries. The front does not have a lens to cover the leds so i'd be careful not to drop it on a hard or rocky surface. I did get a frosted diffuser for it and turn it into a fun lamp. The Coast TX10's one green led is more brighter than my old CSI Nebo's 5 green leds. The white button on this flashlight have waffled grooves so you can feel it with your fingernails for a moment and turn on the white light in the dark. I was thinking of getting the stronger LED Lenser p7qc from elsewhere though it cost alot more, but this little light is fabulous for what it can do. Is there any changes to make it more better - i would have it spot to flood which will include a protective lens, have a lumens setting dial from high to low, sos, and use only 1 or 2 aa batteries, easier than putting in a battery cage. That's all folks :D

The packaging was damaged and the torch was switched on when It arrived. It seemed to work ok but on the main or white beam it started to flicker and then go dim. Tried new batteries to no avail.Returned it and awaiting a replacement.
