Enemies With Benefits: An Enemies-to-Lovers Romance (Loveless Brothers Romance Book 1)

Good thing there are 5 brothers
Violet and Eli were enemies in School. Both were very competitive and have known each other since the first day of kindergarten. With dreams of their own, they haven’t seen each other since graduation. Fast forward 10 years and they run into one another at a restaurant while Violet is on a date. The story gets interesting fast with several humorous scenes and situations. A real page turner with great character development. So good it’s a must fun read!

NOT PERFECT BUT A FUN READ
This wasn't a bad book, but it was definitely too long for a rom-com. It got repetitive but the climax kicked in just in time, and the climax and the ending were quite good and worth the wait. On my wish list is more backstory for the MCs. This story cried out for flashbacks to make me understand why Violet was so hostile toward Eli. Fewer sex scenes and more backstory would have made this perfection. Now lest you think I'm too negative I must tell you that for the most part I enjoyed this book and thought it was really funny. There are plenty of good things about this story—funny banter, likable cast of characters, swoony Hero, small town setting, foodie content, potential for good series to follow.I've read this in 2024 so this book was published almost five years ago and I would expect that the author has grown since 2019. I really liked her short story Textual Relations and that's what made me seek out more of her books. I both read this and listened to the audiobook and Ms. Noir's writing style flows like a dream. I also liked the narration. Monika King was spot on as Violet and Tor Thom has a “regular guy” sort of delivery that is perfect for comedy... and his rich baritone is pretty appealing.

This started out pretty good and then about page 70 or so it bogged down.
I really liked this book at the beginning, but I got tired of it about a fourth of the way in and skipped to the last few chapters without any desire to go back to finish. I couldn’t take the heroine going through bad stuff at the hand of someone else for so long and then it just got to be too much. It’s one thing to have some hard times, but this, IMHO went on too long and the culprit(s) didn’t really get their just desserts. I don’t enjoy books where the main characters have to be constantly torn down and/or humiliated so someone can save them for a HEA. Sorry but it just brought me down and that’s not why I read. I know there’s lots of evil in this world, but I like it compensated for by justice whenever possible in fiction.

This one took me by surprise!
I didn’t really know what I was in for with this book because these cartoon covers really throw me off sometimes. Don’t judge this book by its cover! It’s fantastic!Violet and Eli have always been enemies… literally since childhood, but when they find themselves in a situation where they can be enemies with benefits things get interesting. This book had great banter, I felt that the pacing was perfect, it was super fun to read, and it had way more spice than I was expecting. If you are into enemies to lovers and secret relationships give this one a go. I was 100% not expecting to love it as much as I did.

Loved this book
Loved this book especially for free on kindle! Definitely an interesting and unique version of the "friends with benefits" tropeI liked childhood enemies turning into adults that are still enemies but attracted to each other. The side plot was okay but a little cringy with the wedding vendor dynamic.Very entertaining - I recommend it to anyone looking for a rom-com full of great banter and lots of steamy scenes.I will definitely be reading the other brothers. Their teasing and banter were some of my favorite scenes in the book.

First in series delivers
Enemies with Benefits was a fun, easy read for me that just flowed well. I think it was a case of finding the right read at the right time for my mood. I liked both main characters a lot and their banter/fighting had me smiling. I really enjoyed the concept of childhood adversaries turned love interests. Insecurities, life obstacles, and shifting perspectives added depth along with the plentiful humor and steam. The story was told in first person, dual POV. No ow/om drama and neither were virgins (it had been 1 year for the h and 6 mos for the H).I have been in such a mood for banter and a back and forth verbal battle of wits. This read filled that wish for me rather nicely. Violet (h) and Eli (H) could have certainly opened up to each other earlier, but the slow progression of admitting their feelings, even to themselves, worked IMO. As an added bonus, they're newly acquired co-workers so we get a bit of office romance thrown in too. The side characters, esp the Eli's brothers who also have books, also boosted my enjoyment of this book. Their family dynamic was wonderful to read. There is a brief separation late in the book with the major conflict arising, which wasn't exactly what I thought it would be, but the resolution wasn't drawn out. A sweet HEA, with the promise of this couple being seen in subsequent books, wrapped it all up. This was my first of Ms. Noir's books before and I've since read and liked many others, including more in this series.

Witty and Charming!
Enemies to lovers is the greatest book trope... so, having an Enemy with benefits is just down right FUN! Violet and Eli had some of the best banter I've ever read in a book and I just couldn't help but fall in love with both of them instantly. I highly recommend this book. The spice was a lovely cherry on top of a wonderful story with wonderful characters. I can't wait to read about the other Loveless brothers!

In my favourite top 5 books!
I'm truly and completely in love with these two sassy lovers. Loved every second reading about Eli and Violet, also the Loveless brothers are something entirely else. Can't wait to read more about them. ✨Beautifully written, definitely lots of laughs and tears shed during reading it. It stays interesting, and kept me on my toes. Could barely leave the story. And lots of spicy parts in it. 🔥🔥🔥No spoilers, but if you're a fan of Enemies to Lovers, drama, humor and lots of witty banter, well don't wait to read this one. Worth every second of your time. 🤍
