3/4" Thermostatic Mixing Valve - SUPERB QUALITY..... Thanks Danze
Even though I had issues in the beginning with getting hot water to come out, I'm completely HAPPY and Satisfied with this valve.I'm always skeptical when it comes to online ordering, and what kind of service will I get if there's any problems, but I must say...... The service techs from Danze were great to deal with. I'm a plumber by trade, so it was easy to explain my situation and the steps I took troubleshooting the valve. After the second cartridge that Danze sent, everything is working GREAT!! and they haven't heard from me since. One thing I noticed when taking things apart, is the quality of each piece that it took to make this valve. It's a GOOD heavy duty product, and it will last a long long time.

A must
We never have to adjust the temperature. Much much better then a pressure valve. Products works well and the trim is nice

Buyer beware that is is only for balancing temperature not shutting off flow
I had this shower ready to roll, but I am not a plumber by trade or I would have know better. Never assume anything is rule number one! I cut on the water, but the shower never stops running. My body spray did because I had a diverter valve inline to that. My shower head is a constant water fall. I just ordered the 250 more in parts so I can cut back into the wall behind the tile (fortunately) and retrofit another diverter valve in place to shut off the shower head. Valuable lesson learned today about valve bodies versus balancing valves...know your plumbing. This could have been an very extensive repair had this been on tile side that I needed to dig into!

Not a valve!
If you are thinking about buying this "valve" it is not a valve at all. It only take incoming hot and cold water and mixes to handle set temperature. There is no way to shut the water on or off or control the volume. You need shut off valves before or after this "valve" for your shower to work. Had to tear out wall in shower and put in additional vale. That limitation should be made more clear...

Not great for a single shower head. but it's a wonderful device
I loved my last Danze thermostatic shower control that was all one assembly with one trim plate and smaller thermo control knob. Unfortunately I sold that home and that valve is now obsolete. For my new home, this new design with separate pieces ends up being a LOT more expensive plus it is much more work to install and takes up more wall space. The trim plate for this valve is huge compared to the actual on-off valve. It seems out of proportion that the giant handle is only for setting the temperature and the smaller control is the one that turns the water on-off. I'll have to get used to going for the small handle to operate the shower.Just for a single shower you need this valve, a trim plate, a control valve, another trim plate, and a 3/4"x6" brass pipe nipple. Also a shower head and neck. $$$I had problems with the included plug for this valve. It seemed oversize. No matter how tight or how much pipe dope and tape, it still leaked. Had to get an aftermarket plug that threaded in easily and sealed on the first attempt. This design is not so great for a single shower head. It is better suited for an elaborate set-up with body sprays, shower heads, and wands. But I love the thermo control. So great to know the water temperature will be perfect when you step into the shower.

Do it Yourself Install
Valve is extremely robust, very clear directions for installation. I used this with three (3) volume control valves for my custom shower system. Tips : make sure you torque the NPT connections very, very tightly (ie two large monkey wrenches) and preferably (not required) use paste thread sealant vs. tape - otherwise they will leak. Valve needs to be recessed about 2.5" from the finished wall surface, so using a 1" plywood sheet to brace it on worked great. Nice rough-in protective cover, and flushing prior to final usage is a breeze with supplied tools. I've had good luck with the Danze products, and they seem to offer a good bang for the buck.

Amazing!!
Did someone say max flow, insane volume, and SOAK ME IN THE SHOWER?!? Had a bit of trouble sealing my fittings, tape didn't work (twice) but pasted it on the third assembly, let it sit for two days, NO LEAKS!! I used 3/4" civic threaded fittings, and had to replace them after each try. I was not thrilled over the leaks and frustrated by stopping them, but am completely satisfied with this mixer valve. It's amazing :-). TIP: pressure test for leaks before closing up your installation, this is only the second valve I've installed that has leaked, and I'm glad I always pressure test before I Duroc my shower installs.

Nice handles but design flaw
Nice looking handles but beware if you have ocd because not all my handles are pointing exactly in the right position. The Danze valve is made with little ribs that the handle pushes in to. If the ribs are not in the correct position the handles will never be straight. You can not change how the ribs line up because they are part of the cast valve attached to the inside of the wall. The handles and valves look like good quality but this design flaw needs to be fixed. I used another brand/valve and handle for my tub (same style with the lever pointing down instead of across) and the plumber had a hard time with it too. The master plumber I hired spent at least 2 hours trying to get all the levers even and could not get them all aligned perfectly. I can live with it but I am disappointed.
