The Coffee Maker I Should Have Bought Years Ago
For years, we have bought those cheap Mr. Coffee coffee makers. Several times, they have come close to setting our house on fire. We learned to NEVER trust them unmonitored. We tried the giant aluminum coffee urns, and while the lasted longer, they too suffered shorted cords and became fire hazards, not to mention made coffee with a metallic taste. We also tried the stainless steel percolators, and they didn't last long either. Needless to say, I was pretty jaded about coffee makers in general. Recently, we ordered the Bunn BX-B Coffee Brewer from Amazon. I live and breathe coffee. If you cut me, I bleed coffee. We go through several pots a day. I wanted something that works well, and is stoutly built. All my life, I have seen Bunn makers in restaurants and figured there had to be a good reason why so many are found in commercial settings. This Bunn Coffee Brewer has lived up to the Bunn reputation, and has finally made me a happy camper. While its speed at brewing a pot (3 minutes) was a big plus, it was not a big factor in my purchase decision. It is as fast as they claim, and that's great! What was most important to me, is that it brew good coffee, and not set my house on fire. This brewer does make great coffee, and from the way it is built, I don't worry about fires. I had read in other reviews that Bunn's customer service was very helpful and friendly, and that also influenced my purchase. I also read in other reviews that the carafe's tend to be easy to break if bumped, so I ordered a spare carafe just in case. Amazon had that for $14.99, so that was a good price. This maker does not have all the fancy computer nonsense in it, such as timers, etc., but I could care less about that stuff. All in all, I am very happy with my Bunn brewer, and would gladly buy another one if needed. It was well worth the money. Our old Mr. Coffee maker will go to the landfill where it belongs. Bunn is an American company, and makes an excellent product!UPDATE July 21, 2014: I purchased my Bunn BX-B on July 26th, 2011. It carried a three-year warranty. Just six days before the warranty expired, my beloved coffee maker died a sad and horrible death! (the switches went dead). I just now called Bunn, and spoke to a lovely young lady. I gave her my model number, date code, and when I purchased it from Amazon. She asked for my name and address, and said that they would be sending me a brand new coffee maker with a new 3-year warranty within 7 days. No arguments, no hoops to jump through, just great honest customer service! She did ask that I return the old unit to them after the new one arrives, but I could keep the old carafe and filter basket as spares. Ladies and gentlemen, that is how customer service should be done, and I take my hat off to the good folks at Bunn!Side-note: A year after I bought this coffee maker for myself, I bought one for my son's newly completed house as well. He's had excellent luck with his coffee maker. Also, in my initial review, I'd mentioned reading that the glass carafe's were easy to break, so I bought a spare one when I bought my coffee maker. Three years later, we were still on the carafe that came with our Bunn, and that spare one I bought is still in the box it came in from Amazon. So, they don't seem as fragile as what I was led to believe, but I am reassured that we always have a spare, just in case.

Best, hottest coffee and excellent customer service
This is without a doubt the best coffeemaker I have owned. The coffee is brewed quickly and comes out very hot so one can add milk, cream etc. and still have a hot cup of coffee. When I got the system I wasn't quite used to Bunn and the brew switch on the fill port...so, inevitably got wet lowering the lid before I had the coffee and carafe in place. You do that exactly ONCE and, trust me, lesson learned. The Bunn comes with a high flow head so it can brew coffee very quickly. However, if you like a stronger cup of coffee, just call Bunn customer service and they will send you a lower flow head for free. The low flow head is also very useful if you are a home coffee roaster like myself. Freshly roasted coffee can "bloom" and the high flow head will exaserbate that condition. The low flow head solved all issues and takes only marginally longer to get a full pot. The heads screw off easily and can be interchanged in less than 1 min. *Bunn should include both heads is my only recommendation. At altitude, we are at about 5400 feet and every, single other coffeemaker we tried brewed cold coffee (and we tried alot of them!!). One shot of milk/creak and it was off to the microwave. The high altitude Bunn makes a wonderfully hot cup of coffee that can accommodate a good does of milk or cream.Bunn customer service is simply outstanding and let's just say was significantly more helpful than the "K" manufacturer, of which, I got tired and frustrated with dealing with their non-responsiveness.Best coffeemaker for the $$ period!

Bunn is KING
I just received my Bunn BXBD (High Altitude) 10-cup home brewer and I must say it more than exceeded my expectation. Even though I must have read almost a 100 reviews that were about 95% positive, there were a few that complained of luke warm light brown watery tasting coffee. I awaited in antisipation as my Bunn was ordered here on Amazon and tracked to my door-step. Well, after unpacking and reading the start up procedure and following all direction I can honestly say I just drank one of the best cups of coffee of my life!!! No exaggeration at all! It is far better than most restaurant coffee I have had and took under 3 minutes to brew. WOW! I think Bunn addressed a lot of the issues they were having like poorly designed glass carafe that leaked when poured and the design of the water seal too. This coffee maker seems well built, is handsome in comparison to most the other junk pots on the local department store shelves and just flat makes an excellent pot of coffee. In anticipation of a possible future move to an elevation of over 6000 feet, I opted for the BXBD High Altitude version. I was a little worried that this model would not heat the water hot enough at my present altitude of just over a thousand feet but let me assure you, it was plenty hot and very delicious! I have wanted a Bunn for going on 20 years but never wanted to shell out the money when it came time for a new pot. This time I made the decision to get the Bunn and I only regret not doing so a long, long time ago. GET THIS COFFEE MAKER! Bunn is King!

Excellent, fast coffee
The Bunn BXB 10-cup coffee brewer will be a convenient addition to most small offices. Personally, I use the Bunn at trade shows for my JavaFit coffee business. When I get to the event, I fill the machine with water, plug it in, and set up my table while the Bunn heats up. In about 10 minutes, the unit is ready to brew the first pot. Since I transfer the coffee immediately to one of several air pots, I don't need a coffee maker with multiple burners. In fact, I don't even need the single burner this unit has.The quality of this budget-priced Bunn, like its more pricey siblings, is first rate. It is mostly plastic, but sturdy. I like the fact that it is lightweight and compact because it travels well. My only beef is that, to empty it in order to put it back into storage, you need to unscrew the output spout and turn the machine upside down. Water empties -- not from the filler on top -- but from the dispenser/spout. When upside down, picture a drinking fountain -- the water flows upward out of the dispensing hole. It's a bit messy, and I wonder how much water is leaking into places it shouldn't be.Naturally, if you are using this coffee maker as intended -- in your small office -- you will rarely if ever need to empty it. Unlike a home brewer, this machine is designed to keep the water inside hot all the time so you can have a fresh pot of coffee in three minutes. And believe me, this Bunn performs. I have a hot pot of coffee in UNDER two and a half minutes. In fact, these commercial brewers spew water into the filter basket with such speed that, if you notice your coffee is weak, use two filters to keep the hot water in your grounds longer. That is what I do to get a great tasting cup of coffee.
