AKVAVIT - Rediscovering a Nordic Spirit Paperback – 26 August 2017

I haven't closed a book in a long time and I'm sad to say that this book did me in. Save that $40, buy a bottle of Brennivin, and find a recipe online. The book reads like an Instagram post, half the page is used for text, and of the 214 pages, a good chunk are just pictures. Had this book actually delved into the botanical backgrounds that make up aquavit, more history behind this tasty beverage, and steered far away from the chapter on bars that have aquavit programs, it might've been a decent read. 4 page summaries of bars that have aquavit programs though, unnecessary.

It could use a bit more editing, but this is a very interesting overview of the spirit, and the recipes are great.

Lovely book. Just wish it had an index.
