Great, when it's warm.
I bought one of these two years ago, and for how it's designed, it's excellent. However, there's a major flaw: It doesn't work in a mostly-unheated space. We put this on our basement (unheated) entry stairwell, and for a time (and for the summer) it seems to work very well. Batteries last a long time, and when the deadbolt doesn't seamlessly line up with it's slot (our house shifts), we're able to push or pull on the door to lock the door properly. The problem arises when it gets cold.In the cold, this lock will beep & click, as if to engage the mechanism, but it starts slipping, or partially, not-quite engaging fully. Sometimes it takes many attempts to get the mechanism to grab. The obvious first response is to replace batteries with new ones, but that doesn't make a difference.Called Schlage, they sent us a new one.Six months later, new one's not working either. It's a recurring problem. In summary, for any door into a heated space, you'd probably never have any issues with it, and it's a marvelous design, but for a cold entry, it's not working consistently.

Does not work in the cold
You can hear the solenoid actuating, but the the knob spins without moving the deadbolt. It's quite frustrating and I'm ready to take a sledgehammer to this.If you search this problem up on youtube, you'll find others among the videos and comments with the same problem and on reddit, there are people in Texas with 50F weather who have similar problems as well.0/5. Would not recommend.

cheaply made
I must have got a bad unit or something, because when i try to lock it, the tumbler spins and doesnt connect to the cogwheel. I dont know why it barely catches the cog to actually move the deadbolt in and out. Ive taken this stupid thing apart like 20 times, its exactly set as the instructions indicate.tumbler barely contacts the cogwheel and just spins freely. have to spend 5 mins trying to get the lock to open or close

Was great while it worked
I've had this lock for 2 years now and about half a year ago it started glitching. 90% of time it works as expected, but sometimes it just doesn't engage the lock. I.e. you enter the code, hear the sound of the lock being engaged, but it's still not engaged... so you enter the code again. Sometimes I've had to do it 3-4 times to get the lock to open.<UPDATE> after contacting manufacturer, they've sent me a new replacement lock with no hassle. Sure it took a bit of effort to reinstall it, but overall very good service. Back up to 4 stars.

6 months later it just turns and turns multiple tries to lock.
The concept is great (see my initial review below) but 6 months in and it turned into a lemon, when trying to lock the door the first two tries just keeps turning without locking and of course you have to wait for the timer to stop each time, usually on 3rd try it locks. I am not a happy camper.got a great price for it, didnt measure my door like an idiot before buying so I had an old cutout to 1 3/4 this needs 2 1/8 so had to buy hole saw and enlarge hole but after installed my kids now can enter at will no key ever required again! the smart thing about this lock vs other keyless entries is that it doesn't drain your battery at all (supposed to last 3 years) and this is because when you enter your code it doesn't auto open the bolt for you it just enables you to turn the knob yourself and turn the bolt to open that way it uses almost no battery juice, if you had to change the batteries however its 2 minutes and 2 screws easy peazy.
