Terrific B-complex for 22 lb Maine Coon cat
My cat was suffering a host of undiagnosable issues and after considering my own B-Complex deficiency symptoms, I decided my cat would benefit from it as well. Six years ago when I got her as a kitten, she was fearless, outgoing and happy, strong. We had six years of numerous deaths in my family and other stressors and her personality changed. This is what B-vitamins do in humans:* B1 (thiamine): Thiamine plays an essential role in metabolism by helping convert nutrients into energy.* B2 (riboflavin): Riboflavin helps convert food into energy and also acts as an antioxidant.* B3 (niacin): Niacin plays a role in cellular signaling, metabolism and DNA production and repair.* B5 (pantothenic acid): Like other B vitamins, pantothenic acid helps your body obtain energy from food and is also involved in hormone and cholesterol production.* B6 (pyridoxine): Pyridoxine is involved in amino acid metabolism, red blood cell production and the creation of neurotransmitters.* B7 (biotin): Biotin is essential for carbohydrate and fat metabolism and regulates gene expression.* B9 (folate):Folate is needed for cell growth, amino acid metabolism, the formation of red and white blood cells and proper cell division.* B12 (cobalamin): Perhaps the most well-known of all the B vitamins, B12 is vital for neurological function, DNA production and red blood cell development.B-complex has an unpleasant odor and doesn't taste great. It's not an easy supplement to give a finicky cat with a great sense of smell. But it's invaluable and worth the effort of figuring out a way to administer it. My cat likes pumpkin so I empty half a capsule (she's 22 lbs) into a thimble size bit of canned pumpkin, mix it, squat over her and put it in her mouth, gently holding her mouth closed till she swallows. Does she enjoy the process? No. Does she benefit from it? Yes. With daily use (B complex is water soluble and has to be imbibed daily, also use of steroids or antibiotics deplete B vitamins) she's returning to the calm, curious, healthier cat she used to be. Well worth it!

Great results for cat with kidney diease
I purchased this specific b complex because of the forms of b9 and b12 which are easier for the body to use. Most b vitamins offer forms that aren't quite as effective so I was happy to find this as an option. My senior cat has chronic renail failure and was having a terrible time with appetite, basically refusing to eat anything, including all her old favorites. The appetite stimulant rx from the vet used to be very effective in getting her to eat but it wasn't working anymore. She was refusing everything. B vitamin defiency can be quite common in cats with kidney disease and results in feelings of nausea and low appetite. After 2-3 days of giving her this supplement there was a significant improvement in her eating and overall energy. I have been continuing to give her the daily cat dose and her appetite and eating has been top notch. She clearly feels much better, even back to doing her crazy sprinting around the house, which she hadn't done in weeks. This will continue to be part of our daily meds routine since she's doing so well.I tried mixing it in her food but she doesn't like the flavor, so the oral adminstration is the best option for us right now.I pour out 1/4 of the capsule powder into a small bowl. A shot glass or something equally small would also work. I add about 3/4 ml of water (measure with an oral syringe) and use a 1 ml oral syringe to pick up the mixture and administer orally. (With all liquids, administer very slowly and from the side of the mouth to make sure your cat does not choke or inhale on the liquid. This is very important. Ask your vet to show you how if you are unfamiliar with this process. Choking on a liquid is very dangerous for a cat.)Just fyi, the mixture is bright orange. I suggest trying this in a room without carpet so you don't get orange drips everywhere.

Great quality product
The product seems to be a great quality product but the smell and taste is not at all appealing to my cats. I've been unable to add a therapeutic dose to their food. If you have a dog that you can get the large capsule down their throat then this would be a great product to use.

Bad taste.
It was recommended that I open the capsules and sprinkle the contents on to the food. Neither of my dogs will go near their food bowls after 1 bite. I tasted a very small amount and I know why they don't like it...not only did it taste horrible, it left a bad taste in my mouth for hours. I do not recommend sprinkling it on the food, I especially recommend that you don't taste it.

Works for cat with severe deficiency
One of our cats has been taking this product for 6 months and it has completely put his symptoms into remission. The only other thing that worked for his was B Complex injections every other day, but those injections burn and were causing our cat to have a buildup of scar tissue all over his legs.We distribute the vitamin powder into three size 4 gel caps and he takes his med without issue every day.Backstory:We thought one of our cats had had a stroke and after a quick visit to our local vet, we rushed to one of our vet schools for an emergency work in to neurology.Kitty had severe cervical ventuflexion and muscle fatigue. His symptoms were progressing rapidly.Tests didn't determine the underlying cause, but he responded to B Vomplex injections, so were sent home with instructions to do injections for 10 days and stop. His symptoms returned within 72 hours.Other attempts at weaning showed the same results. We even tried other supplements without success. After months of trying to find an oral supplement for him, I can across this product and thought, what do we have to lose.It worked! He's been on the supplement for 6 months and has not a reoccurrence of neurologic symptoms.
