Winner: This
Out of all the newer 2016 Track Builder Releases, this in my opinion, is the best! There are multiple ways of setting up various layouts which the manual suggests, and good variety of pieces, though straight track are lacking as usual. The star of this show is no doubt, the duel booster! It's very "next gen-ish", as it looks nothing like boosters that have been around forever. What makes it unique is the way it is set up. There's your usual battery-eating power brick (this uses 4 D cells), but both boosters are independent from the power source. They simply plug in to the battery block, so you can place them away from each other, giving your layout twice the power to shoot your cars around. You don't have to use both boosters, but why wouldn't you? What's more interesting is, the booster's rollers are now vertical, instead of horizontal. When a HW car enters, a single rubber roller grips it from above and launches it out, and both boosters pack a punch! I only wish the connecting cords could have been longer, as you can't place the boosters too far way from each other. The white support towers are one of the newer pieces found in this series, as they can be placed horizontally or vertically to support tracks. Each tower offers a number of node connections, so tracks can be connected at various heights using the pivot points. The pivot points are brilliant little button-like gizmos that slide easily slide into any track. Now when you snap your track into any of the towers, you can actually rotate and angle your track with much freedom. All in all, it's a very roller coaster-style approach to track building, and a good one at that.As far as the layouts go, there are a few duel shoot outs as in...gravity drop to booster, through loop, then off to space (hopefully, a carpeted one). These are short lived, 2 second runs but kids will have fun launching their cars simultaneously (this set only comes with one car of course). One interest layout features a continuous run where both boosters work together to continuously shoot your cars through a figure 8 course. Cars zoom around and eventually crash, so it becomes a survivor game. The sample courses won't hold a child's attention for long periods, but they can experiment on their own, and combine the pieces with other sets. And finally, the box. The new, thicker cardboard box also doubles up as an extra stunt accessory. Perforated cut outs allow tracks to be integrated for even more variety. If your kid rather keep the box, then get ready for a shock: You can actually fit all the pieces back in the box for storage. I know, right?Overall, this is example of Mattel heading in the right direction.

Versatile Track Builder System
The media could not be loaded. The Hot Wheels Track Builder System Power Booster Kit includes instructions for four different layouts. The attached video is the corkscrew challenge. The other three layouts are only the beginning of possibilities for adding these pieces to existing Hot Wheels sets. It takes about 20 minutes to set this up. Our four-year-old grandson quickly wanted to add more tracks and cars. We initially had to provide a little help moving the power boosters for him, but he is always eager to show off his ideas for a better set up.The instructions are clear and easy to understand. The box doubles as a target to launch the cars at and includes tabs and ramps that can be used to attach track. Purchasing additional track and cars is a good idea if you don’t already have Hot Wheels equipment because the kit only includes one car and enough pieces to build what is in the instructions. The kit is recommended for children 5+ but our four-year-old grandson has been enjoying Hot Wheels sets for more than a year.

Doesn't support metal or taller than the provided car well.
This track set has 2 launchers for the hotwheels cars. They do not accommodate very many sized cars being top down design. They have to be thin and light weight or they just dont get any energy transfer. It's sad that the one provided works but the 50 or so other normal size cars my kid has can't seem to do anything.

So Fun!
I bought this for my son for Christmas for a fantastic deal. It shows four different ways of setting it up for additional fun. My 4-almost-5 year old can nearly set it up on his own, but needs a little help with some of it. The booklet also shows making targets or setting up barricades with recycled containers and boxes for the cars to blast through. My 4 year old and 3 year old had a blast with this.

great starter set
My daughter wanted something hot wheels for xmas, so went with this set. The neighbor later brought over his criss-cross crash and it was pretty wild. She thought it was awesome and even I got in on some of it.. The parts are interchangeable/connect with some other sets and the box has some knock out panels that you can use as part of the payset. Note that these sets are not exactly quiet, but the kids will be louder anyway when this thing gets cranked up... hahahaha.. They run best on fresh batteries so keep a set of spare batteries on hand after a while. . I think it is a great starter set for hot wheels

Great fun for kids & parents alike!
This is is a bit unstable & moves on a hard floor. My son & I have tons of fun with this. The only problem we've had is that when cars move really fast thru it, the track moves & the cars fly out due to this. One you stabilize the track, it's hours of fun! I got this on sale for $22.99 & for that price it's more than worth it. I wouldn't personally have paid the retail $44.99 for it as I don't believe it's worth that but I do believe it's fully worth the price I paid!

No Christmas for one kid.
The toy doesn't work. So here we are the day before Christmas and my nephew doesn't have a Christmas present when his sisters do. He is only 5 and won't understand so now I have to go to a store and hopefully one will let me switch the product out! Can't return it and get a new one because it won't be here by Christmas! So devistating.

Bringing Classic Back To Life
My son LOVES this track! He's 11 and Hot Wheels are now a renewed joy in his life. He is always setting up new tracks and racing his cars, experimenting on the best way to set things up. Hot Wheels aren't dead, they're very much alive and loving this track!
