The thing that I loved about this belt is that immediately I felt supported
I was concerned about buying a belt without trying it on, but this belt is highly referred to by Crossfit enthusiasts. Due to that, I thought I would try it. I have problems with my Psoas and have had to wear a belt to prevent associated injuries. The thing that I loved about this belt is that immediately I felt supported. During today's workout, I did a combination of Crossfit and Bodybuilding. I love the feel of having this on (even when running). The name 'Bear' is a perfect description of it, because it feels like there's a big bear hugging you from behind with a firm and supportive grasp around your waist. I feel solid and safe. It has a wider front (which I love) because it helps with bracing my abdominals and protecting my psoas from overextension (especially when fatigued). I am short at 5'3, have a very small space between the bottom of my ribcage and the top of my hip, and have approx. a 32" waist. I took a chance and bought a medium. This sizing is great. There are times where I have to 'overlap' the ends, but there are also times when I need the extra stretch and length, so a medium works well. Solid and durable metal roller and hardcore velcro. The cost is just as good (if not better). I absolutely love this product and if I need to buy another I will!

I am used to wearing a Nike contoured belt size Medium and like the 7
I purchased this belt after a lot of research and was on the fence about sizing. I am used to wearing a Nike contoured belt size Medium and like the 7.5" contoured back support for the past 10 years. The problems with that belt are that I am 6'1 and weigh 195 lbs with a size 34" pants waist and the medium doesn't cover enough with the large being too big. The velcro engagement is not very much and doesn't last either but I put up with replacing it. I have been doing CrossFit for the past 3 years and tried various belts but kept going back to Nike until now....I picked the size Medium and glad because it is perfect. The front overlaps just a little and the velcro is extremely strong. I really like the shape and design but it took 2 workouts of squat and deadlift to get used to the overall fit. Today was my 3rd workout and hit a PR on my squat clean. The manufacturer sends you an e-mail that says the belt will be a little stiff right away but after 3 workouts it fits great and I feel that my form solid. I would recommend this belt for the fit, support, and the velcro strength. Velcro belts are great for adjustability but can defeat the purpose if the velcro pops off in the middle of a heavy lift like my Nike belt would do. I also just started using their knee sleeves and really like them so far in comparison to Rehband.

Great support to the back and abdomen while lifting, yet doesn't dig in to the skin like the old school leather lifting belts
I have used a classic leather weight lifting belt for years, when I used to powerlift, and now doing crossfit training. The old style leather belt had hard edges and when you cinch it up good and tight it dug in and made you want to loosen it up between lifts. I saw this Bear Komplex style belt being used by Crossfit athletes and decided to give it a try. Wow, what an amazing difference from the old style leather belts. First off, the Velcro is really strong and holds tight, and unlike the old buckle style belt, you can cinch this Bear Komplex belt up as tight as you want and exactly where you want. It is nice and broad in the front of the belt and gives you better support for the abdomen, and although it is very firm, it doesn't dig into the skin of your gut the way the old stiff leather belts do. I didn't need to continually loosen this belt between every lift, as it was not digging in and I could breathe easier. But at the same time, the support for my back and stomach was superior. This belt also is more comfortable for doing moves like snatches, and also because it sits flatter against the waist, it makes it easier to do bentover rows and upright rowing with it, compared to the old leather belts, with the big buckle in front.

from super expensive leather Rogue belts
I have owned a few belts now, from super expensive leather Rogue belts, to Harbinger velcro/nylon belts. I have been lifting for a few years and have been looking for the "right" fit. I had back surgery (lumbar discectomy) so I have no problems walking away from even an expensive belt if it doesn't perform the way I need it to. That being said, this is a quality belt. I prefer nylon/velcro belts because there is no weird spaces like with a leather belt, or too much added bulk. This belt is well, really, perfect for me. I have a relatively thin waist (31/32) and medium fits me perfect with room to grow. The velcro is very durable and has a fantastic hold. My harbinger wore out very quickly and when doing heavy clean and jerks overhead and flexing my abdomen as hard as I could, would pop the velcro. This doesn't happen at all with the Bear Komplex belt. I think it is fantastic. The design is also very nice. I really like the Stars and Stripes. I rarely give 5 stars, but their customer service and following up with me was a nice touch to see if I like the product. This is a quality product from a quality company.

Solid belt
I use this belt mainly for deadlifts. Its helps to remind me to stabilize my core and provides decent back support. I don’t get the usual back pain after heavy lifts when I use the belt. Always happy with Bear Komplex products.

I love this belt!
This is Mike's girlfriend, Ashley writing this review :) I had him order this belt for me, as I do CrossFit and heavy weightlifting and struggle with back issues. I would use my boyfriend's belt or the belts at the gym, but have never had my own. Mike had recently given me the Bear KompleX hand grips for Christmas in the same color as this belt, and I love them, so that attracted me to ordering this belt from this brand. I also didn't want to spend a fortune. So far, I have been very satisfied with this belt. Typically, during workouts that involve deadlifts, my back starts to hurt. When I used this belt, it didn't hurt... at all!!! It certainly helps keep my core tight and my form in check. I love this belt so much already, and look forward to doing more workouts and competitions with this belt! Thank you Bear KompleX!
